GameDay Greetings from an old Coot
Nov 28, 2015, 7:46 AM
|
|
Gamecock hope often means praying for the very best while bracing for the very worst.
That being said, Clemson went to bed last night like a golfer in the lead of a huge tournament with the lead on Saturday night. Their dreams are of a perfect season and the nightmares are WHAT IF we somehow allow those silly coots to upset us? How would Clemson ever live that down?
Certainly the Tigers could roll, maybe even 64-16 but I HOPE my Gamecocks have some fight and pride in them and will put up a battle to the end. I will be hugely disappointed if we don't throw the kitchen sink at you today.
I'm working today and going to miss the game for the third time in 36 years.
So here are my predictions:
Fear - CU 64-16, Tiger fans storm OUR field, rip down our goalposts and we get fined by the SEC!
Hope - Watson plays tight (Boyd) and we hang in there to the bitter end and win it 23-21
Most likely - Talent outlasts emotion and CU takes care of business 34-17
Win or lose I will still be a Gamecock, heck I've been through worse. :-O
Here's to a well played game with no injuries and good sportsmanship on and off the field.

Watson shines in big games, and Boyd played nervous! Tigers roll.

Pay no attention to some of the peckerheads on here, they know who they are. You and Confessed have benn a couple of the decent coots on Tnet; heck, CC may even be in that clever RAG clique, whatever that is.
We don't agree with everything yall say, but that's ok. Anyway, i honestly hope for a blowout, but will take a 1 point win. Either way, it's only a game and i hope we're all cool about it since there's probably crazier and maybe more important stuff going on in the world.

Welcome and good luck, gracious Coot.
Stub Hub noticed an epidemic of season ticket holders who had to work. It must be the economy.

Good post. It is just a game played by young men.

I would like more humility on our side this year, but then again only experience teaches humility. I hope today is not the day our young fans learn that painful lesson.
I won't relax until I can relax.
Your side has nothing to lose.
Cheers.

I'm proud of my Gamecocks for going toe-to-toe for 4 quarters.
BUT congrats to the Tigers for the win, they were the better team today.
