Get off Dabo's back about the 5 out of 10 comment.

People Dabo's no dummy, there is a reason why he made this comment. He knew the media would take what he said and run with it. I for one think it was totally on purpose. Do you think our young recruits don't watch ESPN or have the internet to read or hear Dabo's comments? Ever heard of any publicity is good publicity? Not to mention have you ever seen the movie "Inception"? If he hadn't made the comment then perhaps some of the potential recruits look at that game and say geez I don't want to go there and get whipped by FSU year after year but maybe what he said will sink into their your formidable minds and they will see his side of it and make no hesitation to sign with us. Not to mention can you imagine where the mental state of our team is right now? It also wouldn't hurt for them to believe what he's saying either! Maybe they'll look at it his way and say yeah you know what we aren't as bad as some people are saying, we just played our worst game of the season against the best team we will face all year and that will help them get out of the rut I'm sure some of our players are in right now. It also takes the heat off the players so they can concentrate on getting back to playing Tiger football!

Yes since 2003 we actually own the series with 6 wins and 5 loses. Exactly Dabo could care less what you or me or any of the fans thought about his comment. There was a hidden reason why he said what he said.

Perception isn't always reality! How many times in the past years has FSU been the favorites to win the ACC and didn't? They were the favorites going into the season when we won it.
People assumed it wasn't going to be FSU's year just because "most" Freshman QB's can't do what he's doing. It's called proving people wrong and that's what Winston and his Seminole's team are doing. I didn't think his team and him as a Redshirt Freshman was ready for the moment last Saturday but the definitely proved me wrong and I'm sure they proved a lot of others wrong that night too!

I really don't know why the comment is getting so much criticism. What is he supposed to say, "Jimbo owns me and we will just play for 2nd Place in the Atlantic division every year from now on?" I don't know what else he could have said better. Now if he had said we win 9 out of 10, then fire away. But he couldn't say they'd beat us every time either.

Dabo's comment made him look like an idiot.
He could have said plenty of other things. He just got beat by 37, he did not have our team ready to play and he could not make adequate adjustments to get back in the game.
The national media is not out to get us, but if Dabo "spoon feeds them" with ridiculous comments, they will get him, which make Clemson look bad.
That can hurt our relationship with recruits.

Players Dropped the ball..literally. I think Dabo has improved his relations with the Press and in the won and loss category so I am going to let him slide on this one. This is just a distraction to the reality of what happened Saturday night. You just can't have any turnovers against a good team like FSU or any other good team

Tajh couldn't move the ball. The defense gave the offense plenty of opportunities in the first half.
This is not the first time Tajh has done this. The whole offense looked like trash. Our play-action had our RBs going one way and Tajh going another almost all night. Based on some of the reads and really bad throws Tajh also made, I'm going on the assumption that he also tried to handoff the ball in the wrong direction and the RBs were going in the right direction.
The truth remains this game is on Tajh.

Just like he could have said plenty of other things after we beat Auburn at home in 2011 after the game and just like he could have said plenty of other things after we lost to USC in 2011 but I bet you were eating that up with a spoon. Especially after what he said about USC and how fired up we came out against VT and won the ACC. The man can do or say no wrong when we are winning but everyone wants to throw stones at him after we lose a game.
What if we had beat FSU and he was paying respect to the other team by saying you know what those guys are a good team I bet if we played them 10 times we'd win 5 and they'd win 5. Do you think there would be a big uproar about that?

that's the point. He didn't have to make the comment. You people act as if he has to replace one comment with another when the fact is. HE DOESN'T. I don't get why that is so hard for the majority of you to understand.

It's only "stupid and outlandish" to those who think that. I've played competitive football and other sports before and watched enough games to understand that some nights it just doesn't go your way and occasionally it can snowball and really get out of hand. I take nothing away from FSU they are loaded and plenty talented enough to beat us plenty of times but so are we. And if we played 10 times I personally don't think we would win 5 times, however, I could definitely see us winning 3 or 4 times out of 10.
We played the worst game since the Orange Bowl, at the worst time to do so, against the best team we've probably faced since that time. We had 4 turnovers all season going into that game. We matched that total with 4 that night and it lead to 24 points for FSU. When you get down early to a great team you become 1 dimensional on offense and when you do that you are "exposed" predictable and the other teams D can tee off on you because they know what you're doing. We went in at halftime down by 20 points. 14 of those points were due to turnovers! Take those 14 points off the board and we are only down by 6 at half and possibly only down by 3 because on the drives that were turnovers if you make those 4 or 5 minute drives then they don't have enough time to kick that field goal at the end of the half. Assuming those things happen without us scoring on the drives that were turnovers then we are only down by 3 at half. Halftime adjustments are totally different when down by 3 than down by 20 to a great team. But what if we had scored on 1 or 2 of those drives. Then we go in at half with the lead and the 2nd half is a totally different ball game!
I think what you and others are mistaking is the fact that YES we couldn't play the way we played that night and win 5 out of 10. We wouldn't win 5 out of 10 against Byrnes High School if we played like that every time! I totally agree with you there but to think that we aren't talented enough to beat them 3,4, or maybe even 5 times out of 10 when we actually play good football is wrong!

Who said I don't think we're talented to win that many? I appreciate you putting words in my mouth(keyboard).
My point is, has been, and will continue to be that he should not have made that stupid statement.
It makes him and by proxy Clemson look bad.

Okay so you aren't one of the many I've read that think what he said is foolish because we aren't good enough to do it. Didn't mean to put words in your mouth because I hate when people do that to me on here too.
But my point is he did say it. Nothing we can do about it. I'm sure he's said a lot of really dumb stuff in interviews before that we never hear about because the media doesn't decide it's something worth printing or writing about.
And since you think what he said makes Clemson look so bad I ask you this sir, have you went after and posted opinions about how you think the shirtless Clemson guy on Gameday has made us look bad? I think what he did was pretty d@mn funny but I would have rather that been a FSU fan or a fan of any other college because it makes Clemson look bad but I don't see people in an uproar about that.

I wont argue that but I guarantee you there are plenty of people who think he is a student at Clemson (I haven't read anything about the guy but to me he looked too old to still be in college) and by proxy it makes Clemson look bad. Apples and oranges are both fruit so they do have something in common, just saying.

Agreed. I think most are just still frustrated and will take out their anger any way they can. After the game and on Sunday he was saying all the typical generic things you say after a beating like that and the irate fans were just waiting for some fuel to add to their fire. I for one think people need to stop hitting the red panic button and just wait and see how the season pans out and then assess the situation. If we drop a game we shouldn't like Maryland or Citadel(LOL this is a joke) and then lose to USC (for a 5th time) then we can put him on the hot seat. Until then calm down folks and have a little faith in your team. Last year we FINALLY didn't lose to any team that we didn't have business losing to and so far this year is the same way (so far)(fingers crossed).

Not the way we played Saturday night,or last year in Tallahassee. We might get 4 out of 10 in the Valley, but at Doak,or a neutral field,no way no how. Sorry, just my opinion.
P.S.Takes the heat off! The "heat" is what seperates the men from the boys. And where was the "concentration" Saturday night?

Unless he was asked "if you played FSU 10 times how many would you win?"
Dabo loves to talk and stick his foot in his mouth. Just like before the WVU game he said "they will be talking about the Clemson defense after this game".
He was right.

We have the talent to beat FSU 5 out of 10 but not the mental toughness that Dabo has been preaching about bringing to this program for the last 5 years.
We gave him a break after the Orange Bowl. Now it has happened again.

than Purnell (1 - anything beats 0 - anything). I made a post also around that same time that said we would suffer most with the loss of Demontez Stitt at PG. He was an exceptional talent and an even better leader on the court. Purnell had him for three of his best coaching years. Who is to say which was a more impactful loss to the program?
Purnell left the talent cupboard as dry as Milt the Stilt's on-court presence. Brownell has been rebuilding the rubble left behind, and the ghosts of Oliver's past are now all finally departed. Purnell's teams were fun to watch, but it didn't make up for the brutality of watching them get it handed to them come March.
The jury is still out on this one.
