Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

Yep. You have to go all the way back to last year though with Wake Forest. They were 13-7 in the league, seeded 5th in the ACCT, and missed out with an overall 23-9 record. They went 2-1 in the NIT.

Absolutely. Just have to go back to the 32 team field. We likely don’t finish in the Top 5 of the ACC anyway so the point will be lost.

Yup...Wake Forest last year.***

When it was an 8 team league -many times.

Well we won't be number 5 by the end of the year anyways so

Feb 20, 2023, 10:28 AM

doubt that will be an issue

JUDGE: Sadly, there's about an 80 percent chance that he is correct -- WE are unlikely to end the season in the top 5 of the ACC.

After a first half of team-wide abysmal 3-point shooting in the first half at Loserville, did you notice any significant changes in the offense in the 2nd half?

How about in the defense?

As others have said, Wake Forest last year.

Another good example in another conference is one of Frank Martin's Gamecock teams that took multiple bad OOC losses and finished 4th in a poorly-regarded SEC and missed the tournament without ever really sniffing getting in.

Yes,a little s.carolina history for our young friends. The older guys can help me with this if I get it wrong. The team down south lost in the acc tournament and did not get an invite to the NCAA tournament.

They had a good team that year. They were so mad they left the ACC and went independent.

Anyone else remember? I ll have to Google it.

You are a little off on that Usuc team, that went 14-0 in

Feb 20, 2023, 8:53 PM

the ACC, but lost in the final of the ACC tourney, so they didn't get to go to the NCAAA's, because at the time, only the conference champs went, and in the ACC, that was the tourney champ.

But the reason they left the ACC was the ACC requirement of having a minimum SAT score of 800 to play any sport in the ACC! The AD and football coach at the time, Paul Dietzel, was more in favor of the Coots leaving the ACC than basketball coach Frank McGuire was! After they left the ACC and became an independent, Dietzel said Usoc football was going to become "Notre Dame of the south"!

ACC only had 4 teams in the 2013 tournament***
