on here dissing the hire? Reminds me a whole bunch of the comments after Dabo's hire. My position is going to be just like it was back then, WAIT AND SEE.
Actually, I am probably MORE hopeful about this hire than I initially was about Dabo. Dabo was a complete unknown, the wildest of wildcards. Shawn Poppie at least has a short, but successful pedigree as a Head Coach. Time will tell, but Nerf has done a good job on the hiring front thus far. I will give Poppie the benefit of the doubt until he proves he does not deserve it.
After all, poppies are where opium comes from, and opium is where my Little Friends that I must rely on to get me moving on a daily basis come from. Like the guy who was trying to hit on his first cousin at the family reunion said, "It's all relative!"

He could decide to go to VT with Kenny Brooks heading to Kentucky

Which is more tourney appearances than Brad had during his 4 year tenure at Wright State. So I’d say I feel confident about this hire.

Yet CBB is our all-time winningest coach in the NC2A tournament by a long shot so one never knows.

You seem a bit obsessed with the idea that our longest tenured coach has the most losses. I'm guessing your all time favorite coach is the one who only lost 3 games in 2 seasons? (Out of the 9 games total that he coached...)
That .584 is the ninth highest overall winning percentage among the 22 Clemson coaches, and fifth highest in the last hundred years. Brownell's also the only coach we've had to break even in either conference, ACC or Southern.

Coach K holds the same distinction at Duke

I'm not for the hire. I was against the hire of Brad too. Different situation with football and Dabo. Dabo had been here. To me, it's like a Monte Lee hire. He seemingly was a good assistant at coots, about like poppie, instant success in Charleston with other coaches players. They also have a guaranteed spot in tournament. Amanda did excellent beating other mid major teams too. She was recruiting better than men or women bball ever has.
I ask you. If Neff fired Brad, how many would be thrilled if Neff replaced him with a one or two hit wright st wonder? People would be raising cane.

Several schools wanted Poppie. Brownell is one of the best in business. Take a chill pill.

Just remember most people on this board only come here to complain. Whatever season it is there is always complaining. That’s why it’s enjoyable to read this site. The doom and gloomers arguing with the sunshine pumpers. Got love it.
