I have never understood the fascination with uniforms. The color of one’s helmet does not affect the outcome of the game.

That’s debatable. Maybe not for you but it can definitely excite the players. Good for trap games where it may be hard to “get up” to play.

Back when players didn't hurt their shoulders every time they fall on them or DB hits a TE. I have to think these small shoulder pads don't protect as well plus the big pads looked cool.

Unpopular opinion I reckon but I find the white helmets to be tasteful.
Heck, I want the purple road unis back if we're being completely honest. You can't tell me the white and purple combo don't look good. Purple jerseys and white pants look equally good.
