How long before bowls are done???

The spend a lot of money on bowls, and with the new age of opt outs how long before they quit?? Of course the fans of the teams will watch but the national audience is going to dip with the stars seldom competing in anything other then the playoffs. My guess is that’s why they are moving to a 12 team format to try and save some of the money makers.

Ratings for NY6 bowls are still pretty good. Bowls will end when the cost to put them on outweighs the revenue they bring in. I would imagine T.V networks have to be where the lower tier bowls make there money.

Yeah I don’t see NY6 going anywhere but they got a bowl for everything these days. Don’t see them being sustainable but there are people way smarter then me making those decisions lol

The playoffs could expand beyond twelve teams to 16 or more within a decade. I think at that point bowls become playoff games and the bowls that aren’t a playoff wither pretty fast.

no first round byes. That would give you 8 initial bowl games, and ALL THE REST SHOULD GO THE WAY OF THE DODO. Get back to the point of being good enough to make a bowl game really meaning something again, with real crowds in the stands and everything. One can only dream.

It would never happen, because the TV runners know that we as fans are so hung up on college football that we will actually watch Sadie Dinkins School for Unwed Mothers play the Sisters of the Poor in the "Who Has Less" Bowl, with only 15 actual fans in attendance at Plimpton G. Blowhard Stadium.

What time is that game on, anyway?
