Georgia has been ranked higher than South Carolina in each of the past 4 seasons. Clemson has been ranked higher than South Carolina in each of the past four seasons, Florida has been ranked higher than South Carolina in each of the past four seasons, Alabama ranks between number one and three in the country almost every year.
Georgia last four years (1-3 with three in a row) Clemson last four years (0-4) Florida last four years (2-2) Last 6 games with Alabama (3-3)
Hope UT and UK continue to recruit well. Looks better on us when we win, when their recruiting rankings are always higher than ours.

Absolutely no way to tell but speculation. If I had to guess I'd say not well. All I can tell you without mine OR YOUR biased opinion is that of the games with Alabama we were 3 and 3 and won those games when the opportunity presented itself, including the last win over them when they were ranked #1 and we were outside the top 20. We lost some games that same year to unranked teams including the following week to an Unranked UK team. But the topic of this thread was Speculation into the Gamecocks future based on recruiting rankings of our opponents .... Opponents that we play yearly. I just pointed out we've beaten teams we play yearly as well as teams who constantly finish in the top 5 when we had to play them .....MEANING: I'm not worried about where UT and UK finish in the recruiting rankings and I'm positive Coach Spurrier and the Gamecock team isn't losing any sleep over UTs and UKs ranking right now.

perClemsonTiger1988 It might stress you out to look past the last four years into history
Doesn't stress me out at all. I was witness to the past 45 years of our history first hand. I was there during the best of those years AND THE WORST which were many. It is why I am enjoying not only the present, but the future as well.
I know your having to witness the last four years has been rather stressful on you. And neither you nor or I can predict the future based on recruiting rankings even though you have tried. My response was not about our past present or future. It was just simply to give an opposing opinion to that look into our future.

The point your missing SpurtiCOOT is this:
Tennessee & Kentucky (add Ole Miss too) is uping their recruiting game thus leaning towards:
Sakerlina being BACK in the lower end of the "SEC" gene pool.
Face it Coot....Sakerlina's "dominate" run is quickly coming to halt. Not only in the "SEC", but also in THIS States rivalry. Everything goes in cycles bud, and yours has worn out its welcome!
Go Tigers!!!

Just look at FSU and what Jimbo is doing. They've got a ton of talent and can't seem to do anything with it.
Also, USuC has some of the top defensive players in the country signed with their 2015 class, including the #1 player/DE in the country in Blackshear.
Since these threads inevitably turn into a verbal brawl, let me just say that USuC has had a lot of success lately, especially against us, BUT we could have won our last match up. That loss was on our coaches. I think we are more than capable of beating them on any given day, but a lot of variables must go our way as with any evenly matched team.

Not sure where you got your numbers from, but 247 has Tennessee at #3 and Kentucky at #13 in their composite rankings, which doesn't really change the fact that both are going good things in recruiting.
One thing you should keep in mind, though, is that a lot of these rankings (especially this early in the process) are based on quantity over quality. For instance UVA has only ten recruits but they also have two 5* on their board. Their average recruit rating is 88.72, which is a hair under UT's 88.77. Talent wise both classes are pretty even, but having thirteen more recruits puts UT ahead as it stands right now.
There are only twelve teams with a better average rating than USC (Kentucky is not one of them), and our rating is only going to go up when we add Stanley, Scott, Sawyer and Googer to finish off our class (finger's crossed). But even then our class of sixteen will be held behind some of those classes with lesser averages due to them have ten or more recruits on us.
I'm perfectly happy with the recruits we have and the ones that are high on us right now. Then you look ahead a year (way too far, tbh) and we have decent foundation to our 2015 class already started.
The future is bright in Columbia, sorry.

Honestly? All of them.
We have three really tough games and two of them are at home (Clemson and Florida (and Florida might not be as tough as advertised)). If we win in Athens in week two then our chances to go undefeated go up even higher.
I'm not saying all the others are guaranteed wins, though. UNC is going to be a good test to open the season and UCF at their place could give us issues. Tennessee in Knoxville has been historically tough for us, but they lost nearly all of their offense from last year (though their oline is probably the best in the nation which could make up for some of those losses itself). Vanderbilt has been getting better, but they are replacing key offensive players as well and should take a step back this year. Going to the other Columbia will be interesting, and they do have some talent just not as much as we do, but the true advantage they will have is that this game will be at the end of a three game road stretch. Kentucky is not going to be good this year, but they should be excited with a new coaching staff, so they should be energized at least.
From the West we get MSU and Arkansas. MSU has been inconsistent lately, beating bad teams but not having the horses to compete with better teams and we get them at home. Going to Arkansas has been tough in the past, but they are not nearly at the talent level they have been and should struggle again this year.
Clemson is going to be tough as usual, even if it is at home. Your offense is stellar and will give anyone a run for their money. Your defense is young, talented and will have the experience by the time our game rolls around. If we were in Clemson I would give you guys an edge, but our home field should give us an advantage.
But we're all undefeated until that first loss, so who knows...

Well... if you figure each quarter is around 30 actual minutes that's 120 minutes times 4 for 520 minutes... plus all the bragging time in between games (525,949 minutes in a year times four = 2,103,796) for a total of 2,104,316 minutes of fame.
It was a good run...

The last 4 years are the only years in history that will have an impact on this years games. If the all time history mattered, we wouldn't be on a 4 game winning streak would we?

Come on OP, one good recruiting class doesnt mean much. Its all about consistency. Usc has thrived on coaching/player development, not recruiting. When spurrier leaves itll get interesting

we are the deepest we have ever been on offense and recruiting the best we have ever done on defense. We are raking in more money than you as well. Welcome to the new normal. If all you rely on is recruit rankinga then yall are dumb. Here is a wors for you:
development. Look it up and there is the key to our success. I promise the University of South Carolina is going nowhere! Even post Spurrier and Clowney. Sorry tho.
