IPTAY Information

Nov 11, 2015, 4:36 PM

Does anyone have the information on joining IPTAY and how that relates to getting season tickets.

Go online to IPTAY and you'll find everything you need. Or call 800-CLEMSON between 8 AM and 4:30 PM.

What particular questions do you have? I'm an IPTAY rep and can help you get signed up. Here is some basic info http://www.clemsontigers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=28500&ATCLID=210082091

Anyway to know how much of a contribution to get lowerdeck or home side seats?

How much were you thinking of donating....

Nov 11, 2015, 5:05 PM

and how many tickets would you want?

The reason I ask is because if you are thinking of donating at the Orange level ($400) annually, as an example, and you want four lower deck seats between the 20's, you're probably going to be disappointed.

Better donate minimum 2400 for lowers and likely be in end zone. Getting moved around to between 20s doesn't happen unless you give over 5k. IPTAY will tell you different but we've been trying for years...

Looking to be a 1600 dollar donor

Some things to consider:

Nov 11, 2015, 8:56 PM

Check to see if your company matches donations for higher education. For mine, IPTAY allows the contribution to go to the general fund. Keep that in mind, because some won't match straight to IPTAY. Jill Richard in the IPTAY office can help you navigate that.

I jumped in as high as I could last year, because the level is more important when you start (or start back after 10 years like I did). You can always reduce the donation in subsequent years to the minimum for your seats, but that'll affect parking.

IPTAY suggests that 80% of your donation is tax deductible, so $1,000 will really end up costing you about $750 at a 25% overall tax bracket.

Hope some or all of this helps. And welcome aboard!

Alas there are no guarantees. Westzone is easier to get than 50 yd line but nothing in the lower is "easy". There were only 250 season tickets not renewed in the lower deck for this season and lots of people trying to move. Heck this year I think they effectively sold out of season tickets altogether. The only way to guarantee lower seats is to do the club seats in the suite area (if they are still available) but that requires a pretty big donation.

One thing to keep in mind....

Nov 11, 2015, 4:58 PM

If you donate at the Tiger or $1,600 level (for example), this does not guarantee that you will get tickets in the Orange Section of the Lower deck (between the 20 and 30 yard lines). Seat assignments are allocated based on total priority points which are calculated based on consecutive years of giving, current donation level, and cumulative giving. Translated, that means that everyone who donates at the same $1,600 level and above with more points than you will receive seating assignments over you based on availability.

One thing to keep in mind... Not many seats become available (i.e. not renewed) in the lower deck each year. And IPTAY is not going to pull anybody's seats if they are giving the minimum seat equity. Last year, only 250 seats in the lower deck were not renewed. There is a LONG line of people wanting lower deck seats, and you would have to give a pretty penny to jump them.

With Clemson's season this year, I don't expect many seats to open up for next year. You will have to rely on bad health, death, or financial hardship to pry seats away this year.

My guess is that a new, first-time IPTAY member at the Jervey ($4600) or McFadden ($6000) would be extremely lucky to get a pair in the lower deck for 2016.

Good luck.
