Im just gonna say it

Jan 19, 2015, 6:29 AM

Every time I hear an $ec fan or eSecpn media guy refer to a player as "$ec caliber", it sickens me. They are so ###### full of themselves, its really getting sickening. Seems to me ACC caliber players waxed the $ec least 4-0 that last week. I think Fields is ACC caliber because he is probably coming to Clemson, and since Clemson waxed that coot #### this year, having ACC caliber players obviously is better than having coot $ec caliber players. When will this $ec lovefest ever end!!!!!!!!!

That was as good an answer as one might hope for. I do sense that the lovefest is in the process of ending. The parity among conferences is more real now than ever. But we have to acknowledge that the SEC has been the dominant football conference for a number of years and Clemson has risen above mediocrity only in the last few. So, respect is. Oth hard to earn and confidence is hard to lose, but we are beginning to get ours as we redefine Clemsoning.

I agree but until the ACC

Has a few teams than just clemson and FSU who can win at least 10 or more games a year, we well continue to hear this. I would love for Miami to return to the team it was in the early 2000s. I would like to see VT return to the powerhouse it use to be. GT needs to continue having consistent seasons like they did this past year. Boston college needs to return to the team it was with Matt Ryan. Louisville was a really good team when they were in the big east. Now l really don't care much for these teams but the ACC needs it so we can have more respect from the media and the rest of the nation.

The biggest difference in the $ec and other conferences is the money being poured into the $ec by espn and the HUGE media advantage given to the $ec. The money helps them bring in the big name coaches and the media helps them in recruiting. As far as the players, we beat out a lot of $ec teams for these players. The "$ec caliber" tag is what ticks me off.

Yes that is true but you don't think more money would be poured into the ACC if we had at 3 to 4 more teams that were playing on the level of Clemson and FSU? Alabama, Florida, auburn and LSU have all won national championships in the last 10 years. The SEC won i think 5 or 6 national championships in a row. You don't think if that happened in the ACC we would here the same thing with the media but about the ACC instead of SEC? Im sick and tired of hearing about the SEC also but until the ACC or another conference can dominate like the SEC has in the past 10 years then we will continue to see the lovefest over the SEC.

I think youre seeing the little bit of a slide right now with the $ec. 7-5 is not a dominating bowl record, the 4-0 whipping that last week didnt help, and two years in a row, the $ec hasnt won it. You get into this 8 game playoff and youre gonna find other teams taking it to the $ec. Like someone else said, ESPN has GOT to sell more than just the $ec.

The SEC has big rabid fanbases that put importance on football. Football drives TV dollars so the money flows. It aggravates me that we are in a position where we value football but do not see the same commitment from our ACC brethren. To everyone else in the ACC make a commitment to football in facilities, coaches, etc. Hopefully the rising tide will lift all boats in the next TV contract.

I would like to agree but I can't. We have just as much

individual player talent but espn has an agenda plain and simple, they are trying to sell their product.

Soon, fsu broke their MNC streak last year and this year

they didn't even have a representative in the game.

It'll be hard to keep up the charade if this trend continues.
