now that the GOR has been signed

May 26, 2013, 4:06 AM

it's time to redo the divisions. 2014 the ACC should go North and South. the one team with the major argument before was Vatech, which didn't want to be stuck playing in the north against the old Big East. no way for them to leave now. plus, with the schedule, they would still play Virginia, Miami and 2 other southern teams a year. realigning divisions would make travel easier as well as renew old rivalries.

ACC NORTH

Syracuse
Boston College
Pittsburgh
Louisville
Virginia
Virginia Tech
Miami

ACC SOUTH

North Carolina
NC State
Duke
Wake Forest
Clemson
Georgia Tech
Florida St.

use the Pac12 model. Miami/FSU and UNC/Virginia as the only permanent cross over rivals with one rotating opponent. all other teams rotate two.

I'd say take one of the Tobacco Road schools, shift it

to the North, and move Miami to the South. Otherwise, we'd have UNC, NC State, Duke and WF in our division...a continuation of the North Carolina presence. Of those maybe the Tar Heels or Blue Devils wouldn't mind trips to Boston, Syracuse or Pittsburgh. (Actually, I would have preferred under the current model for Pitt to have been placed in our division, rather than Cuse for the only reason that I have grandkids in the Pitt area. lol)

However, I have no real disagreement with your idea.

I agree that there needs to be a realigmemt ,but I would move Miami and Louisville to the South and take Duke/UNC and move them to the North.

A better idea than mine....***

Cannot move Miami to South

May 26, 2013, 10:04 AM

Putting Miami in South would deprive North schools
a guaranteed Florida game every other year for
recruiting purposes.

Keeping Miami in the North however puts them
[somewhat] at a disadvantage in miles traveled between the schools in the true North.

jk, i hope it's too hard to get to a capable device while he makes little pebbles from big boulders, or at least he should be, while in prison.

i agree that

Miami makes a lot more sense in the South, yet for some reason has always been considered more of a northern team. plus, gives everyone there all important recruiting opportunities in Florida. although, i don't believe moving both Miami and Louisville to the South for UNC/DUKE. divisions would be way too lopsided then.

Clemson, FSU, Miami, Louisville, Georgia tech, NC State, Wake in one division.

So you have the old Big East and the old ACC?
