Tried to scan her boarding pass and it failed. Gate agent said your flight was on 21st yesterday!! 🤦🏻♂️

Not true. The ID is linked to a boarding pass in the computer. You can't just show up to the airport with an ID and get through TSA if you aren't flying.

Not true. The ID is linked to a boarding pass in the computer. You can't just show up to the airport with an ID and get through TSA if you aren't flying.
That may be the case, but I fly a lot and they haven’t looked at a boarding pass for me in a couple of years.

It happens. Once we had a flight back from Key West scratched, and my girlfriend and I rebooked it on the Delta app, we didn't realize the afternoon flight we selected was the following day. After being turned away at the gate, we booked a room, hopped an Uber and had another wonderful day in paradise. Lemonade from lemons.

I'd like to say that I ALWAYS practice what I preach, but that would be a lie.
I was in Key West just a few weeks ago. That may be one of the smallest airports I've ever been to. Easy to get in and out though!

and watching people in airports is some of the best free entertainment you'll ever see.
Travelers come in all shapes and sizes but my personal favorites are:
1) The would be divas who strut through the terminals while texting from gate to gate in 6-inch heels and a hot pink body suit. Her stops to the restroom are only to touch up her makeup and snap one more bathroom selfie to show her friends how much she #omg #loves #travel!
2) The oblivious travelers who literally don't see anyone at the airport other than themselves. Typically traveling in groups, the are constantly confused at the signs, boarding times and gates. They stop at the bottom of the escalators and block major walk sections on a whim with zero regard to others. They cut lines, can't comprehend security checkpoint regulations and sit in the wrong seats, all the while being angry and stressed about the entire experience.
3) The Parents with three or more kids, four strollers, pillows, car seats and children on leashes. These parents rush through the airport with enough baggage to master the Oregon trail. The entire experience is a nightmare from the moment the little ones start screaming as the iPad takes a 15-minute take-off break to the frequent diaper changes in a lavatory space barely large enough for one.
4) The Drunk who makes the most of every minute, barely making it to the flights before passing-out in an awkward sloppy position within moments.

The blocking of entry points, exit points and walkways, amazes me every time.
It’s America…….keep right. It works for walking, driving, boating and flying. How anyone can reach the age of 15 in this country and not know this rule, is beyond me.
It appears to me that 90% of the population is in a drug hazed stupor.

I also travel a lot for work and I always ask myself "Where do these people go when they leave the airport?". Because I never see them in the outside world.
The old joke is you can't get to heaven from Amarillo without connecting through DFW. I was on the skylink not long ago in DFW and the door was closing. This guy comes running on, barely making ahead of the door closing. He looks right at me and yells " Hey, is this the train to Nashville!?!?" I wasn't sure how to respond other than "you bet it is".
I only fly AA because that's about all you have to choose from living in Amarillo. I let my Admirals club membership go last year, I was missing out on mingling with the patrons.
When you travel 30+ weeks out of the year, you may as well sit back and take it all in because nothing you say or do to anyone that works at any airport is going to matter one bit, they have heard it all.

and I'll be back next week.
After several delays due to a mechanical issue and an unscheduled stop in Shreveport to refuel (apparently it didn't occur to anyone to check the fuel gauge before we took off), we landed at DFW at 1:30AM. Of course, we missed our connection to GSP so I ended-up spending two hours at the Hyatt Regency before having to be back at the airport for my 5:00AM flight to Charlotte. The minute we landed, they closed the Charlotte airport for three hours due to severe thunderstorms.

I have spent many nights in that hotel. They sure think a lot of it based on the rate to only take a nap, shower, and head back downstairs. CLT has gone to crap IMO. It feels dirty. I will be in DFW Thursday, CAE Saturday, CHS Sunday, DSM on Monday, DFW again next Wednesday. If you happen to be there, hit me up and I'll owe you a cold beer.

Or the seemingly have never flown before but booked a trip on a discount airline. They stopped at Sam's to prep for the trip and try to get a quart of Listerine through TSA in their carry on bag.

USA a few months back. A couple had their diaper wearing rugrat with them up here. Do you know how many times a baby's diaper has to be changed in an 8 HR time span? A bunch! Did they change the diaper in the lavatory? He!! no!!! Changed it on their seats! The whole front end section of the plane was gagging! Luckily the pilots locked themselves in the cockpit and probably put their oxygen masks on!

And there was a large family trying to depart (ahead of us in line.) Apparently the guy who bought the tickets had clicked on the wrong month for the departure date! The airline rep had to tell him the bad news. I felt for that guy.

to been on yesterdays but it was canceled(or she missed connection)and rebooked for 24 hours later but she pulled up the previous boarding pass when trying to board. There are a lot of things that could have led to that.

IMO, the gate gnats are the worst. They could be in zone 8 but they stand directly in the way of the boarding line waiting through families, military, first, econ+, zone1, zone2, etc.
Just constantly in the way and oblivious to the mass of people trying to get around them.

Again, the ID is connected to airline boarding data. They are validating you have a booking when they swipe your ID.
