I hate the ACC and if we leave good riddance..

I have been a Clemson fan my whole life. I want to pull for my conference as well. I want to be proud of not only my team, but of the teams that my team beats...
I mean we win the ACC and I am proud no doubt, but in all honesty we SHOULD ABSOLUTELY dominate this conference along with FSU. We are the only 2 schools are really really care about football and have the facilities and fans to prove it. I know VT cares but they are slightly a level below Clemson in tradition and fan support.
We won the conference this year. We were the best team and still had 70 hung on us.
I hate UNC and the powers that be..
OUR FREAKING COMMISSIONER VOTING AND STARTED A LYNCH MOB TO GIVE CLEMSON ANOTHER YEAR'S PROBATION.
screw the acc..
We can make more money and play better teams and gain more respect when we do win.
Walt and others keep saying the goal is to get there.. BS the goal should always be to win it all. We might not do it ever again, but that should be the goal at schools like Clemson. we can win the acc and still suck, but you win a league the big 12 and you wont suck and will have gained all the respect you want..
screw the acc.. if we can leave, leave.
Life is all about change. lets do it

totally agreed with u about all of it... hate the ACC.. want to be in a different conference so bad....basically we play in the NORTH CAROLINA ACC... or NCACC...should have been the name all along...If it was not for basketball.. no one in the country would even look at Duke or UNC.....simple as that...

the whole picture...It would be a slam drunk if we was going to the SEC but the Big 12 worries me.... I Like the future TV contacts of the Big 12 but that conference is control by Texas. I have not been totally convince yet that it would be a good move for Clemson..SEC yes! Big 12...not sure. The ACC can be saved by a Notre Dame or a Penn State to balance out the basketball powers of the ACC. But it is important that FSU stays in the league as well.

Why would EITHER of ND or PSU join the ACC?

To make LESS $$$? PSU won't and ND won't until their football team literally has no other option whatsoever. ACC leadership has left the ACC as a whole with little to no method for improving it's overall product. Other conferences in the "haves" group have already improved theirs, are negotiating improved contracts based on these changes and will thus continue to add to their "have$" while the ACC is going the way of the "have not$".

I don't think you're giving VT their due. If you don't think they're as committed to winning in football as Clemson and FSU, you're mistaken. There are three legitimate football schools in the ACC. If those three were really playing at an elite level, we'd have as many as any other conference. All we really need is for the top three in the ACC to be perennial top-10 nationally.

I am giving them their due imo...
Its not that I don't think they are as committed but they dont have neither the history of Clemson nor our fans... FSU has both..
no one respects VT like I do for what they have done, but think about it like this, If Dabo left Clemson I don't think anyone would think omg whatever will Clemson do? Our tradition and history is not linked to any one coach even though Ford did the most... others have won titles here as well and had undefeated seasons.
If Beamer left VT, most would think VT would be in the #######. VT doesn't recruit well at all. They are wake, but with much better recruits than wake, but not as good as Clemson.

Can't find anything to argue with there, but what you say

about Beamer actually proved to be the case with Ford. I love Dabo, but he has yet to prove he's the equal of Danny. So, I'd have to say I rank VT right there with us and FSU. Sure, they'd miss Beamer--just like we missed Danny for 20 years.
