I have a friend who works in the Athens Police Department

He tells me that Kirby sat down with the main folks within the Police Department and told them in no certain terms that the tickets needed to stop or, in my friends words, “This place will come apart.”

My friend also told me the NCAA and federal representatives were now involved due to the breadth and scope of the arrests and that UGA is about to be facing serious legal action and the football program is about to be “Uprooted” using the federal representatives words.

Something about to break by mid July is what he said.

Not sure why this is even a thread here as this incident and arrest occured in June of 2010.

I remember a good many years ago a young lady (college student) from Greensboro was arrested for DUI after a UNC football game. Her father was a very prominent donor to the university and maybe even a trustee, don't remember, but a powerful individual. As a result of the traffic stop and arrest, the arresting officer was fired!
