I have an easy answer to a serious problem

The best way to stop the bottle throwing in Willy B is for the Refs to grow a set and issue unsportsmanlike conduct fouls on the home team when that nonsense starts! A few 15 yard penalty’s would get Muschamp attention ... I think.
If I was the opposing coach I would tell the game officials before the game that I would pull my team from the field until it was safe to play.

there would be nothing more appropriate than mandatory chicken-wire between the fans and the field.

If you think that this can’t be done then you don’t remember the crowd noise penalties the Tigers used to get during games. It became known as the crowd noise rule. Some on tnet are old enough to remember that.

It was also known as the Bill Dooley rule. Another UNCheat coach with a vendetta against Clemson who happened to be on the NCAA rules committee.
I was at the VaTech game where they called at least 4 crowd noise penalties against us. Took away time outs until we had none left, then penalized us 5 yards a pop. In a goal line stand at the hill end (back when students filled the lower stands on the home side from the 50 to the goal line and around the hill, they penalized us half the distance to the goal a time or two. Their QB kept holding up and looking to the refs trying to get another penalty, but the refs eventually told him to just go on. It was extremely loud and I think even the refs were getting tired of VaTech abusing the rule. Then their offense committed an off sides penalty and we held on to win the game. It was 1980 and we won 13-10.

not only call the penalty, stop the game until the video has been reviewed, and the offending parties ejected from the stadium. Then, they are given a lifetime ban on attending future games. That will only have to happen ONCE, to end it. Let the Snowflakes whine, nobody has a "right" to throw stuff from the stands onto the field and possibly injure players.

What are y’all talking about ? This sort of thing goes on at every school. They’re no different than anybody else. Coot fans have assured me of that many times.
In all seriousness, they know ###### well that isn’t true. But they refuse to admit the obvious truth that they have evolved into the most classless fan base in America. Worse than NC State fans, worse than Philadelphia Eagles fans and worse than NASCAR fans too drunk to realize Gordon doesn’t even drive anymore.
The chicken wire barrier suits them best. Go #####.

I've been going to CU games since 1970 and don't remember this happening. Was this an isolated incident involving a few fans? Shirley, you must have an example in mind.
Please enlighten us about the circumstances.

The Ga Tech loss when Tommy Bowden was coach and we were ranked #5. I know a lot of junk got thrown because I got hit by it. It was mainly thrown at the reffs on their way out. Junk got thrown at several games when Hatfield was coach.

one year in the '80s when Duke beat us.....

our cheerleaders used to throw out those palm-sized mini-footballs to the crowd before just about every game.
Well, a Duke DB intercepted a pass and ran it back for a TD in the corner where the Clemson students sit. I'll never forget the rain of little white and orange footballs pelting him as he crossed the goalline.

I remember when we Tigers often used to throw oranges out onto the field at the end of a late season game we were about to win, regarding both hope and memory...
Go Tigers!!!

Loses an eye or has a serious brain injury and the university gets sued for millions they’ll ban bottles. I’m shocked the SEC hasn’t hit them with a huge fine.

At The ACC CG at the Panthers stadium all tops are removed from bottles at the concession stand. An open bottle spewing liquid won't go nearly as far and is not as dangerous. Of course they would have to strip search all of the coot fans for tops when entering the stadium. But they could certainly arrest or remove anyone caught throwing a bottle with a top for attempted assault.
