Yet schools are letting drag queens read to elementary school children. This is clearly an example of someone being so clueless about reality that they think the things their side is proudly doing are so far fetched that when the other side notices they claim its a figment of their imagination.
I'd say the people cheerleading for drag queen story book hour are definitely woke while democrats who deny its even happening fall more into the clueless category.

Here's the problem, you guys will get all bent out of shape over draq queens reading to kids, where btw, nothing harmful is happening to them, but you don't give a #### about the creepy youth leaders who actually can and do abuse kids, or those same kids getting gunned down in their class rooms.
Don't act like you morons have the moral high ground. You don't seem to care about things that actually harm kids.

It started out as a way of saying 'my thought process is that of a person that has been awakened.' As in, I have a thought process that is awake as opposed to yours that is asleep. Some people saw the arrogance and started making fun of the use of the word, by using the word in a pejorative way.

now "aware," thus "awake," to inequality and injustice. I know it can be leveraged with arrogance, but I don't believe the term itself to be arrogant. A good example, to use our recent South Park conversation, is that when I was younger I joked about the Jews in the way South Park did (no malice, just thought it was Cartman funny), but as I got older and understood anti-semetism was both very real and alive, I became "woke" to the pain that even joking innocently can cause.
Or, being woke that DWB is a very real thing that Blacks have to endure.
