He is not the single voice of the university. His accomplishments are unmistakable and I have loved the ride. He is extremely well paid @ roughly $11 million per year. Please Dabo stay humble, admit your mistakes so I don’t end up not liking you. Your rants sound like you think you are the second inflatable person

He's the single voice for the Clemson Football program. Nothing outside of how he addressed "Tyler" was inappropriate or incorrect. Tyler is a grown man and as such received a proper response for addressing Dabo Swinney the way he did. Tyler made the assertion that since the 2018 season the Tiger program has been lack luster. Tyler is wrong considering that Clemson has won three ACC Championships and has played in two playoff selections since 2018, and this is the first season whereas the Tigers won't be earning 10 wins on the season. Has Tyler had his head stuck in the sand somewhere? There's literally 1 other program that can claim 10 wins minimum each season for 12 seasons straight, and that is Alabama. So, asking the rude question about Dabo's salary is unjustified. The reason why Dabo is the second highest paid coach is because he has the No.2 record in the entire nation since he accepted the job. That may have something to do with it. Also, it's rude to count another man's pockets.
GO TIGERS!

I was thinking the same thing. The detractors would say he has gone soft if he didn’t respond that way. But those folks are going to criticize him no matter how he responded.

Couldn't care less about the Tyler situation but it's looking more and more like the bring your own guts Dabo that built this program into a national power is gone and it seems less and less likely that he's coming back. I would love to be wrong.

"It's rude to count another man's pockets"
As taxpayers, we have every right to understand where our tax dollars are going and criticize those in power who aren't living up to it. We do it every day. If I've seen anything on this site, everyone else does, too.
Similarly, do we have zero ability to question how money is being spent? Plenty of donors would argue, so. That's how stock works, also. If you get paid $11M per year, and the smallest of questions sets you off, then maybe you should spend some time in PR training, because these are the basics. If my money is going to someone who refuses to acknowledge that he makes mistakes, is unwilling to adapt to today's football, creates an instant drop-off in performance between seasons, and turns on fans the second there is any criticism, yeah, I can second-guess him. Not Clemson.
Yes, Dabo has been incredibly successful, and I don't think he should be fired by any means, but most of us have experienced people challenging our performance at work. If I blew up at someone for asking me about my performance, I would have an HR complaint against me.
Should Tyler have said all that he did? Not at all. Was Dabo mature and tactful in his response? Not at all. If you can't understand that nuance, and your approach is "Whatever Dabo says is perfect and right and he can do no wrong", then you're worshipping the wrong man.

Why do people bring up his income? Yes he makes a lot! Only three active coaches have multiple Natties! He earned his contract but he can just as easily lose it. Dabo still registers as top 5 coach in college and would get top dollar at any college with a passion. So drop the dumb income argument and just ask what are the next moves? Dabo expects the top of the mountain, can he get there again?
Dabo drove ticket prices, attendance, facilities, etc, etc, etc. He has paid every cent to Clemson in return. This constant income bashing is irrelevant. We could pay someone half but would you expect them to reach the mtn top?

Yea. It’s surprising more people don’t understand the reason it is brought up so often. It is pure jealousy.

Clemson fans are frustrated with Dabo because we gave him a giant contract that makes him probably the richest person in South Carolina and he responded by turning Clemson from a perennial title contender into a laughing stock that will be lucky to finish bowl eligible.
It has nothing to do with jealousy. It's the feeling that you've been ripped off.

You don't think a tenth of a billion dollars for a .500 football team is a ripoff?

Post your Venmo.
I’ll send you the exact same amount of money that you have paid to Dabo Swinney.

The value he has brought to the university and the Clemson area far exceeds his contract. This is unquestionable. When he starts losing on a regular year to year basis then come back. This is one season. He won 11 games and a conference title just last year. A great season. This is one down year and I fully expect him to get us back on the right track.

Dabo has not fumbled the ball, missed a pass, dropped a pass or missed a tackle.
