I agree. I am concerned with bullpen but hopefully come postseason they’ll be on point.

Yeah, I guess that is why they had such a good regular season record. Wow.

Starting pitchers have scuffled, too. Injuries have been an issue there, resulting in the call ups of younger guys or new players that haven’t been as successful, but to be honest, the ‘old hands’ (arms?) have had some bad games down the stretch, too.

I’m just hopeful that 1) the bats stay hot; and 2) no other team gets hot. Looking at the other playoff teams, I don’t see anyone else that’s been dominant down the stretch. Then again, the Dodgers, Orioles and Rays won a lot of games, too. The Phillies are lurking, too - but aren’t they always?!

Still, gotta like our chances with our lineup.

GO BRAVES!!!

That's the Braves this year though

#1 in MLB in runs scored, but bottom half in runs allowed. They still have the best run differential on the season, but playoff baseball always seems to swing in favor of the teams with the best pitching. It should be a wild ride for Braves fans.

I said back in July I would have traded Soroka for 2 legit bullpen arms . Would be a shame to let another World Series slip away because of the bulllen which is the reason they didn’t win a couple more in the 90’s The Braves are by far the best lineup in baseball but playoff baseball is different, gotta have those 7th, 8th, and 9th inning arms

With the new playoff format there were more buyers than sellers in the market at the deadline, so there wasn’t many, if at all legit relievers moved at it. There were plenty of mediocre ones that were moved and some of the asking prices were too high. Chapman and Barlow were the guys with the most closing experience that were moved, and one was a disaster in Texas and the other got shipped to San Diego to be Haders set up man. The Braves made the low risk move of bringing in Johnson and Hand from Colorado for some low prospects and it’s worked out for the most part. Bullpen guys are gonna have there stretches of good and bad outings all season long, you just hope that you have a couple of them figure it out at the right time and ride it out for the playoffs. It will be Jimenez, Minter, and Iggy for the 7th, 8th, 9th for the playoffs and they’ve all had a good stretch run for the most part.

I do not understand why they didn't make a move for the bullpen at the trade deadline. It really does seem like the only weakness and I too am concerned it may cost them in the playoffs.
