Idk why people are so optimistic for next year! Dabo needs to make changes in a lot of areas!

It’s not hard to look at clemson and say wow they struggled again for the 2nd year in areas they usually excel! Turnovers, big plays over 25 yards, and passing yards! We were promised things got fixed by the coaches in the off-season and that the offense would be completely different! Ummm no! It was still throw left , throw right, bubble screen, and run up the middle. Almost no tempo as well. The whole offense looked out of sync many times during the year. But to me the biggest missing piece is risk in playcalling. Our playcalling is especially bland and not creative. You could tell when the call was a run or pass just based on formation and motion. If I can tell I promise you the defense can and coordinators watching film on us. Dabo needs some fresh minds in that offensive coaching room! Now on defense people forget we were preseason ranked #1 and I think we finished 29 or something! That’s a huge drop off. Some of that was due to being on the field for so long from the offense, but some was due to major mistakes on the backend and bad cover calls. I’m curious how Dabo handles these things because 2 years of going backwards sucks and if u think losing to USC jr was a forward Year of progression just exit the board now! Issues remain … now let’s see if dabo changes anything for real or do we repeat the same year next year

Swinney has failed to address the ever-growing problems since the LSU game. The scary part is I don't believe he thinks there is a problem.

I'm hoping he makes the necessary adjustments, but I don't think he will.

I think play calling is a factor, but the players need to mature as well. Same with the D. I am not optimistic for next season though. It will probably will be the following season.

The Dabo I once saw would can a guy for issues we having now! And make changes. When you bring in fresh minds great things can happen bc other teams don’t know your tendencies or calls. Maybe it’s all this money and security clouding decisions, but when u get blown out by 2 teams in one season and lose to usc how can you not expect fans to question what’s going on.

It used to be Clemson and Alabama then a huge drop off. Hate to admit it but we can't compete with Georgia, Ohio State. Look at the coaching we had when we were elite.

Then. Now. The better

HC Dabo. Dabo
OC Chad. Streeter. Chad
DC. Venables. Venables
RB. Elliott. Spiller. Elliott
Wr. Scott. Grisham. Scott
TE. Perman. Richardson. Richardson
OL Caldwell. Austin. Not sure yet
DT. Brooks. Eason. Brooks
DE. Hobby. Lamanski. Hobby
DB Reed. Reed

Our coaching staff was way better when we were at the top

We have great rbs with a great qb and you g promising wrs. Our D should be solid and maybe we return some big names on the DL. Cade gives me great hope

I'm optimistic for what I think that we are capable of. It might be more hope than expectation at the moment. Though Cade made mistakes the other night, many were mental and easily fixable. We ran 101 plays and if memory serves 486 yards. When you add in the PI's which were more or less forced mistakes, we were well over 500 yards. Is that not something to be excited about?

We also have 2 first year coordinators that have the off-season to self-scout and self-reflect. I thought both had average to sub par years, but both should be able to learn even more from the off-season and be better next year. Will it be good enough? We'll see.

On defense, we have a deep enough Dline that it will be ok. At linebacker, we will have Carter, Trotter, and Woodaz, who did not look like the freshman that he is. Can you not be optimistic about those 3. Pride and Lukus, unfortunately for this year, played quite a bit. However, that will be good for next year.

I'm not one of these people that believes that everything is going to be great next year, but the potential is there. I am going to be hopeful that we reach that potential until the time that it can't be.

We don't need changes, we just need playmakers on both sides of the ball. Is it fixable, absolutely but it totally depends on how our recruits work out.
