If Clemson was going to do some stadium upgrades to DV
Feb 23, 2013, 8:10 AM

What would you like to see?
Personally, I wanna see some more restrooms.
I also have some aesthetic ideas for the hill area...but not sure that it's kosher to mess around with such things...which brings me to a second question. Would you all be upset if changes were made to the hill area without touching the player's running lane?

If there was some way to mildly terrace the hill everywhere but the running lane without changing the look this would help. Standing on that slope will ruin your calves for days.
Thankfully I haven't had to stand there since 1983
Bring back the troughs and you solve the restroom capacity for the men at least

West Endzone in th east, but there will be a tunnel/arch through it which the players will come through. About 30 feet of the hill will remain down to the field.
Tradition will be preserved, but there will be more comfort and ammenities.
Clemson will probably need to do a reseating of the stadium, making each bleacher space wider to accomadate bigger butts. They also will probably need to add stadium seats to some of the areas where they can comfortably fit, maybe a "senior" section for older season ticket holders.
Also, they need to power wash the concrete pillars and put a brick facade at least a quarter of the way up.

Outdoor seating connected to luxury boxes in north & south
Feb 23, 2013, 8:25 AM

Stands. It would extend overhang for those higher up in lower decks and allow those with boxes to sit outside. I do not have a box but when I have sat in one for a few games in the past, the experience sucked. You might as well stay home and watch on TV because you miss the whole experience of being at a live game.
I think boxes are stacked on one another so you could only do this for lower level boxes. If added, it would put a premium on those boxes and increase revenue stream.

The stadium suites are the next thing to be worked on. I have sat in the suites and thought the atmosphere sucked, but that is where the big money donors want to sit so more power to them as long as they stroking that check. The do need a small section of club seats outside boxes pretty much like Fluor field has

Landscaping. Look at some of the new stadiums and

proposed stadiums--they landscape around them to make the stadium stand out like a jewel on the landscape.
We have done some of this but the parking around behind the West Zone (yep I know--parking for some of you--sorry JMHO) should be redone to create a spectacular setting to the stadium from that direction. Other things can be done to set the stadium out like an blazing orange jewel of college football.

Fix new sound system for starters
Feb 23, 2013, 9:13 AM

The new line array should be spanking First game it was dialed in and sounding good. After first game rig sounded bad the rest of the year.
Please re-tune and calibrate. Back off the compression and gating.
That's all.

I would close in the hill but leave a wide running lane for the players. Remove all bench seating and replace with fold down stadium seats with backs, all orange. The new seats would compensate for the lost seating due to larger seats. This would make an awesome looking stadium. I believe Louisville already has the arrangement.

Improve the upper deck otherwise people will just watch on TV
Feb 23, 2013, 9:48 AM
|

I would love an overhanging canopy over the top deck to provide shade and orange swayback at least in the upper upper and corners so it wouldn't look so bad when no one sits there Andor encourage people to sit there rather then just watching it on tv with the AC and a fridge of cold beer.
