When is the current CBA up and negotiations begin? If it was for the '18 season, and I'm a highly ranked junior this year, I return for my senior year. The current rookie 'contract' is as onerous as they come. If money is going to be slotted, the years need to reduced. It makes zero sense for a rookie contract to exceed the normal NFL career. Absurd. And please...don't anyone shout 'free market'...that doesn't exist in the NFL. Then again, the word 'contract' is off-base, too.
