I think we will spank Bama but they never should have been in.
This committee thing is a joke.

What I find interesting is so many people are saying Bama shouldn't be in. Yet, most people I've seen admit that Bama is going to be a tougher game than Ohio State would have been.

That doesn’t matter. If it’s all about who we think is better just get rid of the conferences, play a 10 game randomly generated schedule, evaluate, and tell us who the best four are. Alabama sat at home while everyone else had to risk being eliminated. Bogus.
USC was sitting there with 2 losses, a conference championship, and the 16th ranked SOS according to Sagarin and they weren’t even in the discussion. Alabama’s SOS was 56th.

The goal is to get the best 4 teams in. Anyone who has watched USC play this season would be able to tell you they aren't anywhere near being one of the top 4 teams. In terms of USC, I know their SOS is ranked that high, but how exactly? They played Stanford twice, ND, and Washington State. They went 2-2 in those games including a 49-14 loss, and Stanford whom they beat twice is the only team they beat with a record better than 7-5.
Ohio State also had a 55-24 loss. Bama may not have as many quality wins, but they certainly didn't have a 30+ point loss on their schedule, and especially not to a 7-5 team which was the case with Ohio State.

“Best 4 teams” is too subjective. It should be the 4 most deserving. Alabama didn’t look like a top 4 team the last two weeks of the season anyway. They went down to the wire with Miss St. who lost to Ole Miss a week later and then got beat convincingly by Auburn.

And Ohio State is just 4 weeks removed from losing a game 55-24 to a 7-5 team. They also had a real fight against a Michigan team that isn't really any better than Miss. State. As for the Bama lose to Auburn. You know who lost to Auburn even worse than that? Georgia. The only difference was Georgia was lucky enough to play in a different division and got a rematch on a neutral field against an Auburn team that got beat up against Bama.
Just who was more deserving than Bama? USC? Besides the points I made about them above, they are less than 2 weeks removed from a 5 point win over 6-6 UCLA, and 3 weeks removed from a 14 point win over 5-7 Colorado. That's not to mention at other points in the season where they beat 6-6 Utah by 1 point, 5-7 Cal by 10 points, 6-6 Texas by 3 points, and how they were only up 35-31 at one point in the 4th quarter against Western Michigan. So they are more deserving because they won a conference where the 2nd best team had a loss out of conference to San Diego State?

But they should not be in without playing in their CCG. Is their resume any better than Wisconsin's? At least Wisconsin made their CCG. Bama is the only team to ever make the playoff without beating a single top 15 team, and they have now done it twice! In 2015 and 2017!
