Impending death of NCAA football and rise of a "super league" per NBC Sports

This is an interesting article from Mike Florio. Very short on specifics, but it's all still very speculative at the moment. The general concept makes sense, for the most part - meaning I get it for NCAA football, but what about all the other college sports? Would they follow the same path or would this affect only football, with basketball on down to the smaller sports sticking with their conferences?
I'd rather have this "super league" than something dominated by two business entities who happened to have the best lawyers and marketing teams.
The times... they are a-changing, my friends....

there are those who can't control themselves and pet the mouse too hard. Eventually the mouse dies.
Examples include... College football Charleston

The Charleston comment is easily worth 5 TUs by itself.

And FWIW, I would rather see something like this than destroying (further) traditional conferences. Will make some of these teams that have “followed the money” for football look like fools. #americangreed

LOL. I saw where the ACC is the only conference so far to meet with them and interested. I suspect the only reason is because the grim reaper is at the ACC's door.

There is no way it’s as large as 70 unless you have unequal revenue sharing. The B1G and SEC are trying to get the biggest brands and money makers. Adding 36 teams to the already 34 in the P2 means adding about 5 money makers and 31 money takers. Isn’t that what Clemson and FSU are trying to get away from?

If it comes to pass, I will hate it, I would probably hold my nose and watch Clemson, but no others. Will they collective bargain not to have to attend classes, no limit to eligibility ...
By the way, anything Gorden Gee of wvu says should be taken with a grade of slaw. He spearheaded a massive effort to overbuild the campus under the assumption of, 'if you build it, they will come." They didn't come so now they are slashing programs left and right. Shortly after they started the process, he announced his retirement.
PS - A little late to the party, what else would you call a Tiger fan from West-by Gum-WV

Yeah, sadly, we're moving way past the days of developing players as men and college graduates. This is entry-level pro football, with all the upsides and downsides we see in the NFL. Just a matter of when.
