To draw attention to himself and away from the team’s challenges? He said he wants to protect his guys and it just occurred to me that bringing up the bandwagon, 1.5%ers and Tyler was just his way of turning all the attention on him so the team can just focus on getting better?
Is he really that clever?

No but yes! He doesn't want negative limelight on his staff. He doesn't need team and staff bashing to deal with therefore he will take it on the chin.
Dabo is deflecting but deflecting towards himself. Actually pretty smart, keeps the assistants safe until its time to make changes.

went from bashing all of the elements under Dabo's charge and leadership a few weeks ago to crying foul about his 1.5% comment and have been largely in that mode since. Now it's the Tyler smackdown that's got folks all agog.

Seems like a counter intuitive hypothesis. I mean did Coach hire inexperienced coaches & analysts who were friends and former players to make it more challenging for his current players? Or to monetize and improve the lives of his friends and former players?
