Check me on this, but by January 18 last year, the team was already 7-1 in ACC play.
Therefore, while scouring the remaining sked for guaranteed wins and finding none, it is no surprise that I turn back to my workaday duties with a less-than-sunny disposition.
As an outsider who only married into Clemson, I sit on the fringes and wonder why the hour-long drive to LJ seems not a great investment in time and treasure for so many of GVL's Clemson faithful. But I have my suspicions.
In any event, tonight is Reacher night, and from it we'll glean fortitude. Tomorrow night is youngest child's b-ball contest. We'll glean patience.
We'll then take this newfound fortitude and patience and brace for whatever may come out of Tallahassee on Saturday afternoon.

That's a happy day when the milestone is reached. Countdown calendar works. I started my retirement Countdown at around 385 days.

the season - or that is the implication.
So using your last year as an example - we say - we have HOPE, but history tells us that is a fool's errand, come the 2nd half of the season.
Let's look at the ending of last year's AMAZING storyline:
We win a game in the ACC Tourney - AMAZING. We crushed the woofpuppies in the quarters and then as the #3 seed - got EMBARRASSED by the #2 seed uvula.
And then we all know as the #1 seed overall in the tournament for those teams NOT in the top 68 teams in the country, we get beat by Morehead State.
That's a great story, mountain man. Tell the whole thing next time. Makes the context of January pretty unimportant.

It’s normally January and February that things dip. Now were there seasons where January was not bad that I will concede. But really who cares. The point is we start off great and fizzle consistently.
