It all comes down to what Dabo has been telling recruits.

It's one thing to spin yarn to fans about this being an elite program because you can play that off as standard coach puffery, being overly proud, or just for the benefit of the team/staff. It's quite another to be selling that to recruits.
The one thing that made Dabo's brand was being genuine with recruits, and being there for them more than just what you would get on the field. And many of these guys learned the ability to smell a manipulator from a mile away as a survival technique. If Dabo goes from "father figure" to another Roy Johnson, it's gonna be the death spiral of the program.
These guys see what's under the hood more than we do, and wouldn't be long before they realize Dabo's "Neverland Ranch of Dreams and Courage" is a failed experiment of rank nepotism, rather than a place that will develop them for the next level. I'm not saying it is, but I'm saying the leash Dabo has in stringing fans along is much shorter with players, and recruits.
It will start with a flood of portal transfers, which is the mark of death, but it's going to gut recruiting as well, with Dabo's credibility irreparably damaged. Then it's either ride out his contract, or prepare to pay through the nose. Whatever he built, he burns to the ground.
Again, I'm not saying this is the case, but we definitely shouldn't assume it's not. I half wonder if that's a part of Shipley's attitude problem with coaches. He feels he's been misled. (That would also explain his the number of touches at the goal line in spite of efficiency issues; they're afraid of pushing more of his buttons.)

Felt this way until Dabo talked about the moral and Jeremiah Trotter leading a team meeting after the loss, and Bryant Wesco dropping a post today to reassure he’s committed. Sammy Brown has done the same thing a couple of times, these young guys have seen what Clemson can be and are hungry to get back there. Shipley definitely has an attitude problem this year but with the OL he’s running behind I get it.

How long does that last before they realize they're not going to get to

the NFL on hugs and kisses in the lockerroom? Guys with raw talent, sure. Guys that need to grow and develop? They're going to where there is experience on staff. Right now it feels like we don't have experience or results to justify learning on the job.
I forgot where I read it today, but someone or somewhere commented about how hard it is to develop both the guys and the guys learning from the guys. And it's not as if Dabo has a ton of X/O experience to fill the gaps.

Just my opinion but I think he’s going to change that this off season. If he wouldn’t of hired Riley I wouldn’t have any faith that he would change anything. I just don’t see Dabo throwing his hands up and just accepting where we are at. Now if he doesn’t then it’s time for the AD to step up 🤷♂️🤷♂️

Shipley is all talk and a self promoter. He is easy to tackle and has been an ineffective runner this year. Vastly over rated

good analysis, i think dabo can get this thing straight......but people should be prepared that he can't get it done also. I know some may disagree with this thought, but a little of dabo's obsession with his past accomplishments remind me of how Tommy Bowden would "self sooth' himself when he was on the hotseat he would just make alot of crazy proclamations about how there close and he "wants to be in contention" next year........just strung the AD along with his good man act to get millions more out of a big buyout due to underserved extensions.
Having said all that i realize dabo is not tommy bowden he has accomplished much more, im just pointing out some small similarities i noticed in behaviour before tommy tanked for good.

I don't think there is a question of him getting it back bc I know he can, I seen him take this program to where it's been from the start to now. He just needs to start bringing it back before it hurts recruiting!!!

A) 11,000 posts in less than 2 years. ###?
B) “Dabo's "Neverland Ranch of Dreams and Courage" is a failed experiment of rank nepotism.” Did you feel smart writing this. Because it is profoundly stupid.

As much as people do not like hearing this, this team is a few pieces away from being really really good again. Westco, Moore, and Brown bring more value to this team than a one year transfer portal player. They have to be priority #1. Also id wager a ton of money that Dabo has lost the least amount of players out of his 2 deep of any of the major schools in cfb over the transfer portal era and i do not see that changing.

Has diminished on the playing field. I can’t recall him being thrown to this entire year. He even had a TD pass last season I think. The play calling this year has greatly affected Ships success as a runner. He is still the best offensive threat that the Tigers have. Using he and Mafah in the two back system was a good move.... I thought. Clemson has become easy to prepare for thus far this season. One of the few bright lights thus far has been the play of Brown. I hope the coaches can get him more involved as the season progresses. Go Tigers

Home run threat? Absolutely not.

Good gracious. We are playing sloppy football and we don’t look great. For you to draw such imagery about Dabo is wrong. He is legit. He loves his kids. Your post not necessary.
