"FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- ESPN 150 running back Alex Collins still has not signed his letter of intent with Arkansas, and as of Wednesday evening there had not been a resolution."
"Earlier in the day, Collins' mother, Andrea McDonald, refused to sign the letter of intent papers. Sources said she preferred Collins stay closer to home and sign with the University of Miami."

in the high drama of this recruiting cycle. Then again, a politician from Nigeria jetting back and forth over her son's recruitment is a tough act to follow. Everyone with their own 15 minutes of fame, I suppose.

pull the kid's offer letter? He clearly wants to go to Arkansas. If I were Miami, I wouldn't want a kid who's heart isn't into playing for my school.
But then again, it's Miami.

18 year-old can legally enter into a contract without a parent's or guardian's consent via signature. If so, then why is there a requirement (as to recruiting) contrary to that?

The father signed LOI so the kid can go to Arkansas. The mother reportedly has hired an attorney to prevent son from going to Arkansas.
