Gamecock football 2014 preseason ranking #8 or #9??? Final ranking.....N/A Gamecock baseball 2015 preseason ranking top ten Final ranking.....???
Which is worse, to be ranked in the preseason with high expectations or losing a game or two during the season? Heck, we all do that from time to time.

idk, the term has morphed. some brought it up again after

the horrific losses to scar[6 tos] & fsu[7 for 17].
how is he using the term? if it's losing to someone you shouldn't[as a favorite] then you need go back no further than the bees for him to gain traction.
if it's including the morphed version, doak campbell?
it's a no win situation.

But tech was ranked last year and it was an away game. Wouldn't the term only apply to losing to an unranked team when we were favored?
Like NC state a few years back.

We were fairly large favorites in both. I believe these were our last losses vs unranked teams...

I think this is the most important and why we continue to have 10 win seasons.

(I got bored at work one day)
These are teams that have lost as ranked teams to unranked teams since the last time we did (which is the definition of "Clemsoning" that ESPN officially and douchily put up on the screen during an NC State game a couple of years ago)(NOTE: this isn't the last time we lost as the favored team).

from many SEC teams every season, too.
Losing when favored is not how I remember people using that term most of the time. MAYBE it's the only way to keep it alive now if you want to be derogatory against the team.
The last time "Clemsoning" was valid to me was 2011 when we lost to UNRANKED teams like GT and NCSU and then got absolutely hammered in the bowl game.
Losing to ranked teams is pretty much expected in college ball from time to time.
