Yet another? It's only the 3rd time he's been there

and he's been coaching Division 1 basketball for almost 40 years. I guess he might as well be Coach K compared to Brad, though.

NIL hasn't created any great teams in any sport.

Really? The $800K they payed Nijel Pack had no impact?

You know they guy who went 7-10 from 3, scored 26 points, and was named MVP had no bearing on their advancement to the elite 8? Larry E Nayga himself credited Pack for the win.

why? i’m bi curious.
i happen to believe jl is an excellent coach. there lots of money going around. so, nigel packs $$ got the win, but oscar tshiebwe $$ didn't quite work out?
you see, i happen to believe jl is a better coach then cal.
but, that’s just me.

They did a better job budgeting their inducement cash

Big men don’t win in basketball anymore just look at UNC and Purdue. Not only did Pack win the game for em tonight they probably don’t make the tournament without him. They definitely wouldn’t have beaten us without him; he was their leading scorer with 20. JL had 3 straight losing seasons prior to the institution of NIL including a 10-17 year immediately prior. He was a 71 year old basketball coach who was considered past his prime and on the hot seat; the players John Ruiz purchased for him prolonged his career.
I said weak because it looked like, and I still think, you were trying to create lame humor through sarcasm which is in vogue here on the tnets.

Amazing what you can do with two guards making 800k between them!

He took George Mason, my alma mater, to the final four in 2006. They knocked off Michigan State, UNC, Witchita State, and UCONN to get there. That was George friggin Mason. So, yeah, the man has something going for him.
