Joey Logano is penalized and sent to the rear of the field for using modified GLOVES? Are you kidding me? Somebody is going to have to do some serious lobbying to convince me that gloves are that much of an advantage. NASCAR has truly legislated any sort of individuality out of the sport.

Stupidity gets exactly what it deserves. NASCAR had a multi-generation fanatical fan base, which they ABANDONED over greed.
They abandoned packed small tracks, so that they could have empty super tracks. Leadership matters. Know your customers. Appreciate your customers. NASCAR ignored all of that and now they are reaping the whirlwind that they sowed. I don’t feel the least bit sorry for them. Idiots deserve to fail. Greedy idiots doubly so.

Make no mistake. It's on the same path.
I'm glad I got to enjoy 35 years or so of the best college sports Clemson had to offer. I fully anticipate a hard crash soon.

First 2 races this season looked pretty well attended. They were saying there were over 100,000 in Daytona.I enjoy the hell out of it and have watched for a lot of years. Sunday’s race was one of the best I had seen in a long time.
Gloves is considered PPE and they don’t mess around with any safety protocols.

It's a good ruling-it was a safety issue, not an advantage issue. Ever seen anyone burned in a car fire when their clothing melts to them?

So, having a "web" between the thumb and index finger that is made of the same material is a fire hazard? Is making the gloves more aerodynamic that big of a deal or should a few people go in for an evaluation.
It makes more since to me that the web would prevent his thumb from getting caught in the steering wheel when the wheel jerks during an accident. From personal experience, I know about a broken finger and wrist, surgery and pins from a car accident when the steering was between gap in the fingers. A webbed hand or webbed glove, like a ducks foot, would have stopped that.

Each piece of equipment/uniform must be SFI approved. The glove was not SFI approved, hence the penalty.

They’ve made it too fair ironically and there are too many good drivers. There are at least a dozen that have a legitimate chance at winning.
The revised tracks have made for tighter racing. Atlanta was exciting like a Daytona or Talledega race.
Hopefully they continue to make an effort to keep the races close and exciting from start to finish.

It's not the drivers that are better, it's the cars being more equal. Takes a good bit of skill out of it..... That being said I wouldn't make it through turn 1 at more than 55 mph!

It's essentially a recreation of the old IROC series. Drivers that are withing percentiles of their talents driving the same cars will always lead to close finishes. I'd rather see someone talk trash after lapping the field.

I watched some of the Talladega 500 from 1985 the other day, or the Southern 500 maybe. It was pretty poor quality but overall not bad and Bill Elliot literally drove from 2 laps down under green flag conditions and won the race. In other words, he passed the entire field twice in a 500 mile race.
That Ford Thunderbird has some serious horsepower. Bill dominated that year and they never found anything that was "cheating", they just had a supreme race car.

Ole Bill is the primary reason for restrictor plates, along with "safety" as Bill was approaching 220MPH on superspeedways.
When racing was racing as they say...now they just bunch everyone together and wreck, big shocker lol

nascar lost all creditability when they went north, west and banned the flag. It is in it's death throes now. I quit watching long ago. True fans left nascar because nascar left them.

I used to love NASCAR, but something happened. It's probably a bunch of small things that have slowly added up to make it unwatchable.
I switched to F1 a few years ago and find it far more entertaining and after going to the Miami F1 race last year, can genuinely say I liked it. A lot.

I'd rather have my prostate checked by Freddy Krueger than watch this series of drag races around an oval. Stop bunching them up and let them run.
