K-state offense

Dec 31, 2022, 12:32 PM

Looks simple. Has some crosses and rub routes. A little double teaming up front. The big issue I see is a rhythm. Streeter has good spots, but is not a rhythm coach. Today's game is timing and flow. This Alabama defense is good. I'm just really watching offense today and trying to rationalize what I saw last night.

You sir are correct. Almost EVERY offense I watched this Bowl season has rhythm and looks like they practice. Our offense rarely looks in rhythm. Why is that?

And look. They are having success up the middle and call a counter and it goes 80+ for a TD. Streeter has to go. The basic college offense is about 20 plays. Some formational changes and shifts. It's play calling timing and tendencies. I'm not a coach and I am no way qualified but as a statistics guy and someone who looks at data and situational awareness for a living this Clemson offense is frustrating!!!

Question and side note

Dec 31, 2022, 12:53 PM

I noticed DJ5 and cade in games appear to get frustrated with getting the play in. I don't know what our process is. I know we let dw4 and Trevor audible. But it seems we make a few plays and then bog down and get clunky.

Do we need to simplify our process?

One thing I miss it how Chad Morris would run a simple off tackle run out of 5 or 6 formations. He would show something the defense would shift and we would run tbe ay. He had weaknesses in his scheme, but his philosophy was "I'll get you to move so I can run what I want to". This staff strives for balance to a fault. The delay of game late in the first half was caused by late changes from tbe sideline. It confused Cade. I saw Swinney yell something about "he's a freshman "! Keep it simple and let the kid play.
