Last offensive play:

Sep 21, 2014, 1:03 PM

Coaches decided Choice would be best to run the ball.

Coaches decides Watson wasn't prepared to run under center.

Choice did that his entire high school career. Why not snap directly to Choice? Would that not have hurried the play along and given him a better chance to get forward?

Just curious, I'm not claiming to be a football expert and haven't seen this mentioned yet by anyone.

that doesn't change the fact that Eddie Goldman blew up the play at the point of attack..

Agreed, more so thinking about what we could have done different on the sidelines and if this should have been a realistic option.

It's one of the worst plays calls in a situation I've ever seen for Clemson football. And I've seen plenty.

Would it have been different with Stoudt? Dabo said Watson wasn't comfortable under center. If it had worked, no one would be questioning it.

Something I also was considering adding to the original post. It wasn't working on the goal line earlier, why did we decide it would work in a 1st down or go home play?

You're saying we have had no success running the ball from the shotgun? That makes no sense. We have.

no it wasn't.. it was a off tackle power.. If Goldman doesn't throw Davis into the backfield Choice at 219 lbs doesn't get slowed down he at least gets to the marker.. first down throw us off.. we can't continually go into 2nd and long.. and have to get a miraculous 3rd down and long to make it a close 4th and inches.. we have to do better on 1 and 2nd down.
