the gubmint enters a private market throwing money around. The market will adjust to the new money stream from the gubmint and retain the overall supply/demand balance. We've seen it with student loans, and lottery money with college tuition. We've seen it with Medicare/Medicaid money and healthcare.

completely off. However...they very likely knew that the rebate would be in the bill, and I have no illusions they wouldn't have done the same thing even if they didn't know -- just maybe with a less obvious figure than almost on the nose with the rebate.

I believe Ford just raised their prices by $7500 on the F150 before that was announced.
Problem is, after 2023 they'll lose the grace period for the $7500 tax credit stipulations (no way they have no Chinese sourced content in an EV F150 by 2024) and so it's a net increase of $15k on an F150, before any "inflation reduction" money.

Hey Chuckles, how bout you call one of your GOP reps or senators and ask them when they’re gonna cancel the $16 billion in annual subsidies going to oil and gas or the $4 billion in annual subsidies going to the coal industry.

Ford EVs been eligible for this tax credit for years. The Inflation Reduction Act extended the program that if anything will make Ford ineligible because of sourcing requirements.

Hey chief, your posts are very informative I had no idea that Joe was causing the inflation in the US. So I guess he must be behind the global inflation from Argentina to Zambia also. Is that right? Could you imagine if we were so lucky to have Trump as president we wouldn’t have inflation in the US and the rest of the world would also have no inflation. ####, we got screwed.
