One of the most striking facts about immigration to the U.S., unbeknownst even to many immigration advocates, is the superior education of Africans coming to this country. If we consider adults age 25 or older, born in Africa and living in the U.S., 41.7 of them have a bachelor’s degree or more, according to 2009 data. For contrast, the native-born population has a bachelor’s degree or more at the much lower rate of only 28.1 percent in these estimates, and foreign-born adults as a whole have a college degree at the rate of 26.8 percent, both well below the African rate.

It's a similar story with asian and Indian immigrants as well. They show up with nothing, many not even knowing the language, and within a generation they've magically managed to overcome all the systemic racism that straight white men have in place to keep everyone else living in poverty. You won't find anyone on a college campus anywhere discussing this phenomenon as it's easier to ignore reality and pretend that it's the fault of others for your own shortcomings.

This article is from 2018. It would be interesting to see if the education stats of those presumably immigrating legally from Africa are comparable to the illegal Africans coming now across the Southern border.
I think most of us are fine with a system of legal immigration and certainly would welcome the well educated immigrant of any race.
However, allowing this influx of immigrants who are entering illegally should be an affront to those who have entered legally and the sheer volume of people from all stripes entering are now breaking the system in sanctuary cities and sanctuary states.
There is a huge difference between legal immigration and illegal immigration and personally I don't want the purest Aryan with a PHD coming illegally much less the hordes of poorly educated people from hundreds of countries streaming across our borders.
Your point that African immigrants in the past have as a whole been an asset and high achievers is true. I'm not sure the current crop of illegal immigrants from anywhere will prove to be a net positive. I guess we'll find out.

Brain Drain is absolutely a thing, and it's not just killing Africa but it's killing (or already killed) places like Russia and India as well.
The best and brightest have skills they can make a lot more money with over in the US. So why would they stay? India's been educating a significant portion of our doctors for forty years now.

If you really knew how Africans from Africa felt about blacks in the USA, you'd call them racist. They despise 'native' blacks because the culture they have adopted is 180 degrees from that of Africans from Africa.
