Lot 2 Grilling

Oct 11, 2013, 8:48 AM

Hey y'all we have a tailgate spot in Lot two for the game tomorrow and I have never tailgated there before. Is there acceptable space for my little Weber grill? Anywhere for me to dump the coals once finished?

In my experience in lot 2 (borrowed the spot from a buddy last year) very many people grill, but almost no one with charcoal. So that first 20 minutes where it's real smoky will get you some stink eye looks, but after that people are happy to eat your leftover burgers. Since it is all grass there is no good place to dump coals, so bring a gallon of water and put it out in the grill :(

Thanks for the input. Maybe I'll start the grill early and just keep it going all day so no one has to get a face full of smoke.

you may get some dirty looks from the wine and cheese crowd

that feels it is beneath them to even smell that awful charcoal...lol but other than that----grill away! That is one of the smells that I love about tailgating at Clemson! Try to keep the smoke going in a direction that won't be blowing right into someones face (unless they are snobs, then point it right at 'em!). Take some bottled water to make sure the coals are completely out before going into the game. Have fun and Go TIGERS!!

If they made charcoal smoke cologne, I would wear it and my wife would love it!

Good call on the water.

Been in Lot 2 forever .. I use gas grill, but plenty of folk

use charcoal. A guy right down from me uses it every week. If you stay after the game for a while you can dump very extinguished coals over the fence. They cram too many cars in that lot, so you don't have a ton of room, but you can make it work.
