Love Shipley but he doesn't have the speed ETN

No way ETN got tackled on that run. Shipley is great at hitting the hole, getting his yards, just got his 1000yds for the yr, but he doesn't have that 2nd gear. Glad he is on my team though, not a better mentor, teammate, or a student to represent Clemson.

My wife just said the same thing but ETN has speed that only comes around about once a decade.

Well he tripped for 10 yards.....Had he not, he has the speed and that would have been a house call.

Why does he have to be compared to ETN.. he has elite vision great power and good speed.. all backs are built different. Shipley rarely loses a yard because he hits the hole our finds a hole like most can’t. I like a back that you can count on to get the 3 yards every time even if he’s not a take it to the house once a game guy

Compared because ETN was pur last good RB. Who was I supposed to call out, Spiller, Ellington, Jacoby Ford?? He obviously isn't faster than those guys. I wasn't saying anything bad about Shipley, he is great player, tough, loves Clemson and we love him. He just doesn't have that elite speed. I have seen people post that he had sub 4.5 but he does not. But give me Shipley at 4.55-4.6 and you can have Bowman at his 4.38 speed but doesn't start for Clemson or Florida, and now I think he transferred again? Younger ETN is starter for Florida now! Wish he came to Clemson but he knew he was behind 2 good backs already

Young ETN is a stud. He runs very similar to ETN especially in the open. ETN always had that run on the open where his feet were kicked out a little unusual and his little brother has that same stride. I think ETN Jr will be another NFL back as he probably runs a little stronger thru the tackles as a freshman.

He hasn’t been getting the bulk of the plays for Florida either not sure if he struggles in protection or what but their fan base has been calling for him to be used more

He had the majority of runs last night against FSU. Pretty sure he was close to 100yds
Based on the couple qtrs I watched anyway.

Looked it up!
ETN jr had 129yds on 17 carries. Over 7yds per carry.
Bowman is not on roster.
Wish ETN was a Clemson man. True freshman 7.6yd average against FSU I think they have the second best DL in ACC.

Etienne was a different level of Speed. Mafah and Shipley might be the fastest guys on the offense and I'd wager both are 4.45 to 4.55 40 guys.

Shipley does not run under 4.5 and i bet he is closer to 4.6. I think Mafah is probably faster in a 40 or 60, but with his size he doesn't hit the hole as fast. Mafah is going to be a good NFL RB. Shipley can be a NFL RB but he needs to make sure his hands are great. He will be similar to McCaffrey nut he isn't as fast as him.

ETN's measurables are far beyond anything Shipley can achieve. Defenses aren't going to game-plan around stopping Shipley because he's not a home run threat every single play like ETN was.
But Shipley is a more instinctive runner who has better vision. He's better at making lemonade out of lemons than ETN was. (That said, ETN's instincts and vision have gone to a different level in the NFL).
