He and Fred Davis were never the same after the speeding accident. Credit Malcolm for trying to stick it out, but Woodaz was going to take all of his snaps. Not defending his decision as I believe transfer portal is rarely ever the answer. Hate it for depth.

Wade Woodaz is a LB. Malcolm was a DB. So, unless Wade was moving over to DB he wouldn’t have been taking any of Malcolm’s snaps.

depth chart as Woodaz is SAM but when we play Nickel, Greene would be in and Woodaz out. This is primarily how Greene got his snaps over the years not as a boundary or field CB but as nickel back

writing may have been on the wall that with the more athletic LBs we have, may not be switching to a nickel back as much and leaving those guys on the field more.

My guess is that the coaches sat him down & were brutally honest about his playing time this coming season. We have 4 studs at CB & probably 4-5 safeties that would play ahead of him.
