If you can’t get excited about the upgrade of Matt Luke on this staff, then turn in your tiger card. This guy is legit.

These last few hires have huge potential.
Nick Eason, Garret Riley, Matt Luke, Chris Rumph, and Levon Kirkland.
I think there is something positive to be said about hiring from within but being able to cut bait and go after the best person to fill the job is something Dabo has proven the willingness to do.
I am sure Grisham & Spiller will be gone next year if WRs still can't block and RBs keep fumbling.

Understand the beef you have with Grisham as he better produce this year or else. Not sure why the animosity with Spiller. He’s handled those two backs well. I think Mafah has improved each season and I don’t think coaching was Shipley’s problem this season

Animosity is a strong word to describe anything I said.
All I am saying is if the results don't get better then he will need to be replaced.
Pass protection and ball handling come from the coach and thus far neither RB have gotten any better at those two things.

Agree. Mafah has improved in all measurables. I feel like Ship peaked immediately and was/is a bit hard-headed, which worked for him in high school and initially in college(he was a “give a hit” runner who initiated contact and was known for “falling forward” and yards after contact, leaping guys, etc. but now we see him doing much less of those-I believe he realized he was taking damage and started playing with caution or something. I dont feel like he is taking coaching and adding skills like burst/cuts/quicks etc to his game.

Grisham haters are driving by looking in the rear view mirror.
Early on (going back to 2021) in the ‘Grisham regime,’ our WRs didn’t catch the ball and didn’t block. Since Grisham had been WR coach starting with the 2020 season, then he justifiable deserved blame for our WR corps awful performance in 2021. Perfectly fair. Also, Grisham bore some responsibility for some of the (overall poor) quality of our WR corps back then. Dacari Collins was bad. Beaux Collins was better … he was only just not good. T.Stellato was derailed by injuries; us fans didn’t know whether he was good or useless.
Those terrible shortcomings became steadily overcome. Blocking (no fun task) got better, pass catching got better, recruiting got better. Furthermore, using Stellato as an example, SOMEBODY(s) kept Stellato’s spirits up throughout his second consecutive year of season ending injury. The way that Dabo spoke publicly about Stellato, it didn’t sound as though Dabo was the ‘champion’ for Stellato.
All of the improvements in the WR corps which revealed themselves in 2022 continued throughout 2023 season. Our WR corps was good this year; two huge injuries to our best overall receiver A.Williams) and our best prospect deep threat WR (C.Turner) were not devastating because (1) we had the sense to offer late scholly to T.Brown; (2) we were able to keep Stellato’s attitude positive … he turned out to be a legit threat; and (3) Adam Randall & Beaux Collins improved.
Looking forward, we are optimistic about Wesco and Moore as incoming WR members. Grisham has proven that WRs get better under his tutelage. Grisham has shown that he can recruit. We will have a truly outstanding WR corps next year.
It’s time to wake up. Look through the windshield when driving, not the rear view mirror. We are fortunate to have Grisham as our WR coach. He checks all the boxes.

My take on this and I do love the optimism but Clemson is by far the worst team that I have watched at executing a screen pass. Not sure if it is a lack of talent or a lack of coaching the talent. As most know the WR’s ability to block that play makes it a go or a bust.
Honestly not sure why they run it anymore. Low percentage play for us to pick up positive yardage.

Since the hiring of Eason, Dabo has hit out of the park with coaching decisions. Just need Grisham out the door sooner than later.

Again .. I agree.
Situation matters and believe this is a great opportunity for Luke under Goodwin and Dabo … therefore a great opportunity for Clemson.
