Negative post in the new nike shoe thread
Sep 1, 2021, 1:55 PM
|
|
Will not be tolerated and have been removed.... At least mine was along with several others. What happened? I did not have any foul language nor was I attacking anyone. All I said was in no way would I buy any merchandise from nike because I do not support modern day slavery... why would that be removed? There were at least 5 other post stating the same that are no longer there. Did I miss a new rule or something?

Do we still have a textile department?

If so, I can't imagine that it is a very popular major or well-funded department these days.

Friend at Clemson was a polymer & textile chemistry major. Got a job with Under Armor developing tactical fabrics for the military, which I thought was pretty cool. Lotttts of chemistry classes….

Nike knows the deal with the Higher tribe. They don't care.
But they pay Kapernick millions.

Mine referred the speed of Fanatics delivery (which is slow).
I noticed several others were removed, also.
I believe I know why they were removed.

If you think Nike sits on an island with labor practices and pay scales & working conditions, etc, then you are sorely and grossly misinformed and should refrain leaning on very old story from the late 90s.
You should give up about every shoe brand you can think it if that's your belief system, b/c about 80-90% of the shoes sold in the US come for the same types of factories with the same competitive wages (for their area) overseas.
And don't stop at shoes either...as top 5 importers in the US are:
Walmart Target The Home Depot Lowe’s Ashley Furniture

it could be argues that 70% of working Americans are indentured servants as well.
If you're against Nike for labor practices, you're against 98% of all companies who manufacture products.
Just sayin'

Didn’t you see where they are getting paid to sell those shoes. I would not buy them either but they want to sell shoes and make money slave labor is just a means to that end.

I have quit Nike, and all other brands that are not made in the USA. I have like 4 pairs in the internet shopping world from which to choose from and guess what they are $200 min. Up course they will be higher as they arent built by 10 year olds so I'm good.
