Much to my surprise VT is now ranked...

...And the only other game they have that SHOULD be challenging is versus Miami. And it's a big one for the division. I don't know how they have pulled out so many wins so far, with Thomas being mediocre at best and all of their other problems.
IF (a huge if) they only lose to Miami they are a 2 loss team and should end up decently ranked end of season. Good for the ACC. And #### good for Beamer (not that I care so much).
So if you count Louisville as a soon-to-be ACC team, we've got five ranked teams. Not too shabby.

defense. Having to play VT for the ACC title is just the kind of game we don't need. Beamer seems to have some voodoo on his side....

I remember them being pretty good in '10 and '11. We still beat them, but....
VT seems to go to OT more than any other team I can recall and he seems to pull out his black magic. I don't have stats but they seem to win mostly when they go to OT.

Maybe. But neither side of the ball looked that good int the awful mud wrestling game against Marshall.
You've gotta be good on defense when your QB throws the ball to the other team so often and over and under throws his own men so much. Offensively the only sure thing they seem to have is DJ Coles. He scores about half the time when Logan manages to get the ball in his vicinity.

That's so alabama will be able to say they've beat 2 ranked teams.

DAYUM!!! you're right on & that SUCKS!
There's got to be a reason they're moving them in, because make no mistake...they DO suck & don't deserve to be ranked.
in this case, screw the ACC because it actually only helps Bama's case :-/

They'll get at least 2 more shots at beating a ranked team

including the SEC title game, if they make it. LSU comes in a few weeks. They'll also play Auburn who will probably come into the rankings soon. But I don't see Auburn getting by TAMU so it may not last long. Since UGA has lost Marshall this season and Gurley is up and down with injury, there is a chance Auburn could beat them when they play near the end of the season. But smart money would be on UGA.
