pretty much a no show after the first qtr but it doesn't help the when coming out of the locker room at half, the D gives up a 6/7 minute drive and points. The offense might need to create their own rythm but it'd help if they weren't on the bench for 6 minute stretches. To a certain extent, I think the offense tries to do too much cause they feel like they have to score on every possesion.

Maybe if the offense had picked up a few first downs

the defense wouldn't have been so worn out in the second half? Ever think about that?
We knew the D wasn't good this year. It's shown up in every game. They did better than I thought they would. We built a team around a high octane offense that doesn't possess the ball very long which makes the defense tired. This isn't anything new, we've seen it all season. I guess some people just don't know what they're looking at.

all, but at some point the D needs to step up and make a play. When you give up plays like a 24 yard pass in the flat to a rb or a 19 yard run by the qb on 3rd downs, thats on the D. All I'm saying is just because we've seen it all year doesn't mean the loss is all on the offense for not putting up 30+.

Look at the box score

& notice how many times they got 1st downs ON THIRD DOWN. That's after two plays have already been run, usually taking a full minute off the clock. Sustained drive after sustained drive converting 3rd down after 3rd down. Among the reasons why we lost is certainly our lack of defensive stops; to blame just the other side of the ball is silly. They had the ball for almost 3 full quarters which is embarrassing. That is complete & utter domination from a coaching, execution, & physicality standpoint especially concerning the line of scrimmage. Spurrier made Dabo look rather bad this evening with his back-up quarterback & without their star tailback. We did actually have some decent red zone defense to keep them from getting touchdowns that kept us in the game.
To blame merely the defense is silly also, especially since their red zone containment kept us in the game til the final 5 minutes when they finally allowed a touchdown; Boyd looked very much out of his element tonight, as if he's been playing against high school teams all year, as if he'd never seen the level of competition he was faced with before. At times he looked impatient & at other times he dropped back as if he expected all the time in the world to throw as the pocket quickly imploded upon him.
Dabo may have the potential to be a great coach but he was definitely out-prepared for this one.

run tonight? QB keepers on 3rd and long???? We didn't stretch the field vertically, and our offensive line looked like they were all on the rag.

Do we even practice the quick slant?

We have some of the fastest guys around on our offense, but I don't recall us running one single quick slant all night. That route is so simple and it takes almost 0 pass protection, I just don't see why we don't eat people up with it. Are our all world receivers not very good at getting off the ball or something? One would think that Sammy Watkins could beat anyone off the line.

where were the WR screens or the jet sweep? More importantly, why the hell didn't we get the ball in Sammy's hands? I just don't understand- I really don't- SMH

take a little pressure off the pass rush. AE was averaging 4.5 yds a carry in the first half and McDowell more than that. Where'd they go?
