We started out great, taking a 13 point lead, IIRC. I THINK that gave us a lot of confidence and scared Bama to the point that they started playing to win and when the lead dwindled, we got scared of losing and started to play not to lose and just tightened up. It was reminiscent of other games in which we lost big leads.

When BIG MO shifts, it can really effect a team psychologically.

So, that's my 2 cents which prolly ain't worth 1 cent.

I didn’t see a Clemson playing not to lose against Bama. We did that against Arizona and almost gave it back to them. Last night we attacked, fought, punched, clawed, and left everything on the floor. We did miss far too many free throws (27% 2nd half) to win. Alabama had nerves early but started their onslaught midway though the first half. They couldn’t miss highly contested and incredibly hard 3 point shots the entire second half. It wasn’t about what we did as much as Alabam out scored us by 24 in three pointers. Live by the three and die by it. They will die by the three against UConn.

I’ve been one of the first and loudest to call out Brownelling all season. I can’t say that for this tournament run. One small stretch he slowed it down too much against Zona. Other than that I can complain about anything. Effort was there, coaching was there, and heart was there. We did fire a handful of ill-timed and bad threes too quick in the offensive set.

I’m super proud of the effort of this team in the NCAAT. I hope this series is the equivalent of Clemson beating LSU in the Peach bowl on a last second field goal. Dabo learned to win the big game. Perhaps this tournament is Brad’s LSU type turning point. If he can rebuild quickly, we should be back here sooner than later.

I was in no way blaming Brad. In my opinion, the TEAM got rattled when they lost that big lead and Bama got hot on the 3's which our guys knew they could not match.

We responded well to their 20-2 run to end the 1st half. 50 points in the 2nd half wins that game 8 out of 10 times.
