If he fires Brownell there better be a slam dunk of a hire to replace him, or else we're just creating turbulence for a lateral movement.

Looking around at the coaching carousel right now and not many names are jumping out, unless you're ok with the baggage of domestic violence and/or other pending lawsuits. Neff is buying himself one more year to find the next bball coach as far as I'm concerned.

With this same mindset Clemson football would still have Tommy Bowden at the helm and two less national titles and about a million less ACC titles

Out of all the reasons to not fire Brownell this is the dumbest.

good look to fire Brownell this year! You can throw up "weak ACC" all you want, but 23 wins and 3rd in the ACC is not a bad season. Sure...we lost three games we should not have lost, but most every team does.

He's basically hoping the fanbase embraces mediocrity. Firing Brownlee would create the actual need for a slam-dunk hire. If the fanbase tolerated Brownlee for 13+ years, why rock the boat?
