Nice accountability by B. Carter in the presser today

It was painfully obvious that he was just not good this year, particularly in his tackling. It was impressive to see him take accountability and not hide behind any excuses. He's got all the talent in the world. If he can get more consistent with the fundamentals of the position, he will definitely be a great one.

As I watched the season unfold, it seemed to me Carter was like Cade at times as he was too amped and tried to hard to make big plays.
LB has to be explosive but also controlled and break down to tackle.
You cant just run through a ball carrier everytime. Your momentum will cause you to shed yourself off the runner.
If you watched Trotter and then Carter you could see how Trotter most always broke down and squared up so he could complete the tackle and Carter seemed to be over running the contact.

He didnt play as well as he can, but he was 2nd on the team on tackles***

LBs get more tackles than any other position and he was out there more than anyone but Trotter

Wait, does that take away from Trotter too?

He was above average, but great,.............hardly. He missed more gaps than the entire front 7 together.

A Linebacker having a 48 tackling grade is terrible

That is below average by every standard. No way you can say he was above average. His tape was a disaster this year.

He missed the tackle for a sack against the Duke QB and scored the TD that probably cost us the game.

His problem was that his 1st game and last game were his 2 worst games

He was really bad vs Duke and blamed it on not being in shape (which is a problem in itself if you are a draft eligible guy with pro prospects). He was probably worst vs SCAR. His tackling grade that game was a 25! He easily missed 5 or 6 tackles. Quite frankly he should have been benched in favor of Woodaz due to poor play. He literally got run over in the hole by the RB on that chase down Nate play vs UNC to spring the long run in the first place. He most certainly would have been drafted just based on potential, but scouts would have had to have completely disregarded this year's tape. If it was just 1 or 2 bad games it wouldn't have been a big deal, but he had about 4 or 5 stinkers. Our Defense was phenomenal this year. Just imagine what it would have been had he played even close to his potential.

He was 2nd on the team in tackles, and here you are nitpicking. SMH
