Cardale Jones

There's talk he may enter the 2015 draft. Personally, I think he should and could be the first QB taken. He seems much more of an NFL QB than Mariotta and I'd take him over Winston in a heart-beat. Who else do you see getting picked higher if he came out now?

Jameis Winston will be the first qb taken. Probably the first overall pick to Tampa Bay. If he stays out of trouble from now until the draft, I bet he'll go number one.

Car dale Jones has only played in 3 games, I take Winston all day long. Experience counts. Cardale reminds me of Jamarcus Russell. Huge body, huge arm, can run. What is he in the pros? Way below average. Jones needs to stay

Why does he remind you of Russell? He's big and has a good arm, and he's black? Why not roethlisberger ?

He has NFL tools, but he isn't NFL ready

However, if I'm him, I'd go pro. This is maybe the weakest NFL draft for QBs we've had in a long time. If he makes himself eligible, he's pretty much guaranteed to be the 3rd guy behind Marriota and Winston because there isn't anybody else. If he goes back to school he may end up back at 3rd string again. I suspect he'll probably get picked in the 3rd round. If I'm probably gonna be on the bench, I'd rather get paid to do it.

cardale > Jameis. Has all the tangibles. How are we going to say you take experience over anything. cardale just started in the biggest games in CFB AND LOOKED dominant. Sorry we didn't give him time to gain experience vs cupcakes.

Despite last night, I would take Mariota as top QB in draft

Oregon missed the suspended WR. Ducks dropped two critical 3rd down balls early last night which set the tone for the game. The throws were on the money

Guys, let's pump the brakes. You may not like Jameis, but he's as physically talented as Cardale, is a lot more technically sound, and has it together upstairs (off the field not really, but on the field he does).
Cardale is a very talented guy physically but he's far from technically sound. He's got happy feet and holds the ball far too long to be considered a first round pick. First rounders are meant to be polished with maybe some work to do. But at this point, they're expected to be able to play from Day 1 and Cardale can't do that.
He's got what it takes physically but he's got the problems I mentioned above, plus there are tons of unknowns. First and foremost, how does he do when a defense has film on him? He played well during his three starts (247 yds/gm, 5 TDs 2 INT, avg adjusted QBR of 76). Those aren't first round numbers, and that's with opponents having nearly zero film.
Second, he's had a pretty strong competitive advantage by having Urban Meyer with him too. He's arguably the best coach in college football, so he had clear strategical advantages over teams like Wisconsin and Oregon. When playing against an equally as talented coach in Nick Saban, they had three weeks to prepare.
Third, what's going to happen when he doesn't have a running back who's going absolutely HAM every game he plays in? Ezekiel Elliot rushed for nearly 700 yards in Cardale's three starts, averaging 232 yards per game, 9.15 yards per rush, and 8 TDs. That's unreal.
This isn't to say he couldn't become a very good quarterback, but no smart team is going to draft such an unproven QB.

He isn't ready but he should probably go (somewhere around 4/5 round). He is sitting behind at least Barrett (assuming he makes it back). Barrett "fits" with what Meyer wants to do. Ironically the exceedingly deep QB situation OSU had this season may mean they are very thin next season if Braxton Miller and Cardale Jones leave.
