Average coach on his best day. Clemson deserves better.

Realistically 1, but there’s a solid possibility that the answer is 0

It would be the ultimate slap in the face to Clemson Basketball fans if we go one and done in the NCAA's and Brad is served up an extension so he can start back on a 4 year journey to make the tournament once.

Making the Dance is probably enough to hang on and get like a 1 year extension.
Uninspired play in the ACC won't be enough to fire Brownell. And, honestly, idk if another uninspired game in the big dance is going to be enough either.
However, gotta let the season play out, even if it's one and done at the big dance.
Crazy, we have some folks in the know for football and baseball but don't seem to have someone with an in regarding basketball to have an idea how things are viewed internally (at least from my message board perusing I haven't seen like a Hits Like Rendrick Taylor insider)

Hmm, GN sure didn’t wait for the season to play out last year before he decided and backed his guy.

He will probably keep his job if he gets to the Sweet 16 or higher. I think he should be gone regardless, unless he miraculously gets us to the Final Four or wins a natty. But then again I have no idea what the AD or BOT is thinking or if they're even thinking about Men's Basketball at all.

0. I don't see Neff having the aggressiveness to fire/hire 2 Basketball coaches

It appears he is totally insulated against losing his job.

He is going no where because the Adm does not carry for or support BB. Butler got fired and was never given a nil dollar to use. You think Dawn Staley does not have any nil money? Judge is right about one thing. They don’t care about BB. This is the only reason such a pathetic coach like Brownell has survived. You think the game chickens would have put up with him for 14 seasons? No

Universities have ZERO to do with NIL. NIL collectives are private entities. It’s a pure endorsement deal and up to the sponsors/companies who they want to represent their product(s). Universities have to be very careful about NIL deals. You have to have a marketable program. Clemson women’s basketball isn’t marketable. Rather than explain the nuances, I’ve attached NCAA guidelines for NIL.

Neff seems to be only holding him accountable to make "progress." Making the NCAAT will be considered "progress" and Neff will probably reward him with an extension. He also will get some credit for bringing in a Top 25 rated recruiting class next season.
I don't agree with it but they didn't ask me for my opinion.

0 wins - should be gone 1 win - questionable 2 wins - they'll keep him. Maybe even renew his contract again. Nothing surprises me anymore.

If he just makes the tourney which it looks like he's going to, he's not going anywhere. Neff thinks that is good enough.

Bring home the Natty, and I might be inclined to give him one more year, at this point. And even then, I would know ahead of time I was making a mistake.

Unfortunately, I think hes here no matter matter what happens in the NCAA

And we will suffer through yet another season of failure and unsurprising disappointment. The worst thing that could happen now would be for him to win a game or shockingly too in the NCAA tournament and get a fat pay raise and contract extension that would make it harder to get rid of him, even though he should’ve been gone years and years ago
