Yall will not like this, but I don't care...If Bama Job came open

Nov 27, 2022, 11:57 PM

Bro, I'm a fan of dabo, I watched first hand how clemson went from a team that could not beat VA tech, ga tech and Boston College and was getting waxed by everyone worth a daggum to dabo turning them into a ####### powerhouse that handed Alabama and Saban two loses in the national title game, but I don't think it would be a bad thing for Clemson at this point if Dabo went to Bama...Clemson is a brand now, thanks to Dabo, our facilities are top 5 in cfb, our recruiting footprint is everywhere, we need new blood, a young coach with money to hire any coordinators in the country that will embrace NIL and the transfer portal and clemson would be a ####### monster....someone like a Lane Kiffin or similar at Clemson right now would be hard to #### with

Dabo created a monster....but he isn't evolving....and he's going to get left behind

I completely agree. I'm not sure Dabo is capable of winning in the new college football landscape, especially since it seems he needs the best defensive coordinator in the country and a generational QB to win in the old world. Dabo's recruiting prowess was based entirely around pitching Clemson as a family and appealing to mom's. Things have changed now. Money talks and we can no longer pretend we're annual competitors for the national title (next year will be worse).

That said, Alabama would have 0 interest in him. Clemson is much more content at paying someone $11 million a year for the things they've accomplished in the past, rather than what they are currently accomplishing. They'd never tolerate this nepotic behavior.

“Dabo should go and be replaced by Lane Kiffin” might be the worst I’ve ever seen.

I didn’t see that post and am glad I didn’t. Just wish he’d get his head out of his but and play the QB that gives us the best chance of winning. Two more games and this issue will resolve itself.

Have u ever heard the story of Tennessee and Phillip fulmer? Dabo is the best thing to happen to Clemson football. As fans we are pissed and frustrated with what the coaches are saying me included. But I just thought earlier that maybe the coaches are just giving us coaches speak. Dabo has been around the game for quite some time now and I bet he knows DJ sucked the other day but let’s see if things change this offseason if they don’t and things continue to get worse then he will eventually have no choice but to make changes. Anyways GO TIGEDS!!!

Tigertrey, you're not going to find hardly any

supporters for your idea, for although there are many questions about our program, most of us are strong Dabo supporters.

This is my 58th season since my freshman year, and I promise, we do not, repeat do not want to return to the years of struggle many of us have witnessed. Is it OK to constructively criticize? Of course...a time-honored tradition among the faithful, which all coaches realize will happen. Is it OK to cast aside a coach with Dabo Swinney's resume at Clemson? We would be dammmm fools to entertain that idea presently, a supposition of which I have absolutely no doubt!

Most of the current angst is over the Carolina loss. Live long enough, and you'll experience more even at times when we are heavily favored. Anxiety over the ND loss? Every team in this nation has experienced the same. Aggravated over DJ? He1l, I've been aggravated with a bushel of players over the years, including QB's. It happens. Should changes be made? Of course, and it's fine to express such.

So, what am I going to do about all this? Leave for work in about three hours and concentrate on my business....while Dabo and Company concentrate on theirs!

You are entitled to your opinion and this website provides the platform for you to declare that publicly. But your perspective is entirely myopic. We dare not let a frustrating loss or two cause us to cast aside the best thing to ever happen to Clemson football. I've been a fan for 56 years and no one has ever come close to producing on the field and in the classroom what Dabo Swinney has produced. As you stated, "Clemson" is a national brand now, thanks to Dabo. So you're thinking the guy who put us on the map and led us to 2 National Championships is suddenly incompetent because of NIL? Bless your heart. Let's compare "little ole Dabo" to the greatest college football coach in the modern era; Nick Saban. Rest assured he's got a huge bucket of VIL money and he isn't afraid to use the portal. Yet Coach Saban's team has 2 defeats this season as well. And you can't accuse him of being a "culture guy." All he cares about is winning! He doesn't promote "nobodies". He buys the best available Assistant coaches in the country. Yet he lost two games. You can paint the same picture about Jimbo Fisher. He spent more money buying recruits than anyone in the history of the sport. And he has an endless supply of NIL money. Yet his team has been thumped several times this year. Life is cyclical. So is football. It's hard to stay at the top. Nobody does forever. But I trust the guy who took us there before to take us there again. You don't, and that's your right. But rest assured in one simple truth. Dabo is not going to be fired from Clemson University in either of our lifetimes. In case you haven't seen his contract, Clemson University can't afford to fire him. He is our coach for as long as he wants to be. And I'm glad about that. Do I think DJ is a problem? Yes! Am I frustrated that Dabo won't put him on the bench and play Cade? Yes! But does my frustration justify tossing logic out the window to make an irrational decision about a coaching change? Heck no! So relax and accept reality. Clemson is a top 10 team and will be as long as Dabo is around. There will be years we will compete for the National Championship and there will be years we won't. And that's OK. Life goes on. Go Tigers!

I haven’t seen anybody suggest firing Dabo. What people seem to be saying is that if $11M isn’t enough, and he also demands total unquestioning loyalty and worship, then maybe he’s asking too much.

He owes Clemson more than Clemson owes him, and he completely lost sight of that after the first natty. If we could have the old likable Dabo back, that would be great.

Lane Kiffin- really. He has a short shelf life wherever he's been. He just signed an extension at Ole Miss, but I would be willing to bet, he'll still move on somewhere else in the near future. No thanks to Lane at Clemson.

Bobby Petrino on your list too?

I'm more than fine with Dabo remaining the HC for years to come, but some adjustments will be required.

You guys are In here acting like I said I want dabo to get fired or leave, I just simply said IF he leaves its not nearly as bad as it once would of been and new blood may jump start a program that's been on a steady decline for 3 years....

Also we 10-2 because we played in a awful acc...if we was in the sec we'd be 6-6 at best.
Thus is a poorly coached football team with no qb and weak skill position players outside the rb pos

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.
