Ohio State WRs

Dec 31, 2022, 9:17 PM

Marcus Harrison Jr, Emeka Egbuka, Julian Fleming, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba (not playing) are all better than our best WR.

Truly incredible. We don’t have a single WR that would start for them. They wouldn’t even play meaningful snaps for them.

WRU though. Amirite?

And got 2 on the way who we had at the top of our board. Don't think we could even get them to visit.

Noah Rogers is the next great one. Absolutely loved his tape.

In case you haven't noticed - we've been lacking in quality QB play for 2 years. Now that CK2 is running the show I expect our WR recruiting to improve...

Lol, get ready to be disappointed.

Grisham isn’t cut out for this job.

I don't disagree on Grisham - guy has not impressed anyone with the product he has been fielding. However, it will be interesting to see how much of our WR woes we're exacerbated by DJs inconsistency. Ngata played notceably better the last 2 games since CK2 took over.

Still - wouldn't mind seeing Grisham being sent back to the minors while bringing in an outside experienced/proven WR coach. Overall this constant hiring from within is turning us into an imbred unimaginative organization...

offense where DJ is the starting QB or CJ Stroud?

That doesn't answer my question.

Dec 31, 2022, 10:11 PM

If you want to use hindsight, sure. Easier game to play. It doesn't explain why we didn't get better players to commit than OSU.

For WR recruiting to improve due to QB play, CK2 has got to get more accurate on deep throws and not depend upon under-thrown passes to create PI penalties.

He got away with this against Syracuse, and got away with it in H1 last night.

TN made the pass coverage adjustment in 2nd half, and the under-throws stopped working.

My concern is about whether CK2 can acquire consistent deep ball accuracy.

And now more tears are flowing from my watching-too-much-football sore eyes.

Maybe Tyler Brown will become the next Jordan Addison … maybe Cole Turner will become our next Deion Cain.

OK, I’ve got to get another Scotch.

We used to make that joke to South Carolina fans. They don’t have any _____ that could start at Clemson.

Now Ohio State can make that joke about our WRs lol. But Dabo said we aren’t regressing.

When we don't land a recruit, whom is to blame?

Dec 31, 2022, 9:32 PM

The same coaches that helped land some of the Clemson greats at WR also missed on recruits that would now be starting so what's the message? Does anyone think the recruiting strategy has changed then? My point is we've got a lot of people talking about some great fall off the cliff when in reality, those coaches no longer here aren't far enough removed to not be blamed yet, yet everyone wants a coaching change?

Might be the best recruiter of WRs ever. As long as he stays there, Ohio State will continue being the latest version of WRU.

It pains me greatly to admit that. I'll be fine as long as they don't win a CFP championship.

Of course they are. A quick look at their recruiting classes the last 4 years shows them getting several top 5 WR’s each year.

Not just WRU, but also OLU and QBU according to Streeter.***
