Similar to the Boyd to Nuke 4th down versus LSU

Horrible decision to throw that ball into what appeared to be triple or quadruple coverage. Incredible throw and catch!

He stared at Brinny the entire way and the LB ran straight to him and happened to get there a step late.
I hope he grows out of staring at 1 guy.

If CK2 can’t grow his way out of staring down WR Option #1 before start of 2024 season, then we will struggle again to compete for the ACC Championship.
That said, I am confident that he will improve in this aspect of his game for the 2024 season.
UNC’s DB unit isn’t very good; overall, UNC has the worst game day coach in the ACC.
S.Carolina has a garbage DL, but their DB’s are pretty good (like they were last year).
The more likely problem from dubious QB decisions will come in the S.Carolina game, insofar as consequences to us. Our game plan to bear S.Carolina should be to run run run, spiced with a few unexpected passes to induce S.Carolina D from gambling with zero blitz (no safety to back up the DB’s who have man on man responsibility for each WR).

It’s a gunslinger slinging it but to many around here has forgotten what that looks like because DJ would never make that attempt. Deshaun and Trevor did it all the time then treated like gods for doing it.

For a QB with consistently exceptional accuracy + an ‘A’ strength arm, a throw such as D.Watson’s to C.Peake is not, IMO, gunslinging.
Miami’s Tyler van Dyke, GA Tech’s QB King, OK State’s QB … I’d call these guys gun slingers. Their pik to TD ratio isn’t good enough. That doesn’t mean that the gunslinger never makes a great throw.
CK2 is no longer expected to throw the ball so much to be a gunslinger. He can be a very good QB for us, though, even though he will never have the arm strength or inherent ability to make consistently accurate throws like D.Watson, T.Lawrence, C.Whitehurst, or T.Boyd. We can win a lot of games with CK2 becoming the best version that he can be of himself.

DW4 was and is the definition of a gunslinger. Tlaw not so much. people tend to forget that watson would throw 16 interceptions a year, which is why he wasn't the 1st QB off the board.

When he was playing Georgia Tech and he came in for Kelly Bryant....and he rolled out and hit Renfrow in that little spot in the endzone for 6. I was at that game and remember asking myself....how did he get that in there. I would never have thrown that one.

LOL I thought at first it was a pick and was wondering why he would even try that throw there. Big W wrong on that one. Heckuva play all around.

I was about 60 ft from the play, I was amazed it was caught and not picked. Had to watch the replay on the big screen to understand what actually occurred. A laser into quad coverage. Just hook my head and was grateful. Not something that will work every time. If I am not mistaken, Cade through his interception on the next series.
