One more question for the board, this time transfer portal

A friend of mine made a suggestion that I thought was kinda cool. What if players in the portal could only be signed between the completion of the season and the February signing day, and the signings took place "draft style", i.e. lower divisions and lower ranked teams got first priority, then you moved up the list toward the higher ranked teams?

Maybe you could have a second "draft day" before fall camps. Outside of those two dates, players could not be signed from the portal. What do you think? Good idea/bad idea?

The players wouldn't have say as far as who drafts them, so it wouldn't work.

Maybe if there was a bit of risk attached, players might not be so quick to cut and run when they encounter a little adversity.

But you are right that it would suck if you were Bo Nix and found yourself going to Eastern Michigan.

no way the NCC has the authority to turn it into one...no way..

BUT i can see ESPn having a 3 day show on the "portal draft" . If Disney can make money.. there is always a chance

I don't see it working either, but wouldn't it be a great introduction to "real life"?
That's the reality that is going to hit them if and when they hit the NFL draft.
