This won't apply to everyone, but Im from Charlotte so this matters to me. I will forever be a fan of the new Panthers GM if he finally drafts a Tiger. It frustrates me the number of coots they have drafted and have been busts. Need them to pick up a Tiger to get back on track.

gm has his work cut out for him. They are awful and have squandered away their draft picks yet still need upgrades in talent at almost every position on the field.

fill up your 1/2 full stadium with the olive branch of bringing in a handful of their best and brightest. At the end of the day its been a horrible business model.
I myself have contemplated traveling to places like Houston and Jacksonville to watch sometimes ONE player on their team play. Can you imagine the amount of added patrons the Carolina Panthers could have had over the years with just... a little effort?
They'll go out of their way to appease a wolfpacker, a tarheel, or a gamecock but we're talking about shallow shallow fanbases. Never have a met a NC college fan who would lift a finger to travel distances to a football game. Basketball? All day every day. Never have I ever met a Gamecock that would spend two pennies to support a player not donning a gamecock helmet in willy brice. But there are many a Clemson fan that seemed to keep up with the careers of fellow Tigers.
Panthers are either willfully resistant or unbelievable inept at winning the games and the public. Alot of Clemson people in this area. Who for 30 years have had alot of free time on Sundays. Probably is a blessing.

As many problems as they currently have....

appeasing conspiracy delusional fans with an absurd draft strategy that follows 1 inane commandment:choose the best Clemson player available, would only further cripple the franchise. They missed on the NcState OT 6th pick of round 1-looks to be bust, regressed significantly; handed. Chicago their best WR in a decade & their only asset on offense. Forget the fact they failed to draft CJ Stroud and that they could have had him w/o moving up and pissing away this years rnd1 pick, last year's 2nd rounder, and ProBowl WR Moore. They missed on the pick(BYoung), yet again. He's got the build of a DivIII punt returner.

That's not at all what we're saying. You know this. You don't have to trade up to #1 to draft a Tiger (well other than TL). If you need a DT and one of our guys is available at your position to draft, and it's close to where he's projected to go anyway, how much is there to lose by drafting a Tiger instead of a Boise State Bronco? I think there's plenty to gain.
Here's one. Go back to the Charlotte Hornets' early years. They had, I believe, the #4 or #5 pick in the draft and took J.R. Reid, junior forward from UNC, with that pick. Absolute awful bust, but it sold tickets. Lots of excitement to see J.R. hoop at Charlotte. Too bad he wasn't cut out for it.
I am not a "let's load up Houston/Jax with Clemson players and win it all" kind of homer. It's fun to see them together...I've watched more Jaguars games that I would otherwise knowing there's a Clemson backfield there. I watched Houston for no other reason than to see DW4 throwing to Nuk. I've watched some Raiders games just to see if they'll throw to Renfrow. That being said, I would probably watch more Panthers games if there was a Tiger to pull for.

Which was a guy from Charlotte that had a good game against Michigan who played Qb for App State. That’s an indulgent pick for Charlotte residents. 34 years?you can pick a guy from app st. but not one from Clemson who has way better quality players??? Its either conspiracy… Or is it ineptness? Either way.. it’s why they’re worst in the league since Cams 3rd yr. You would think if you’re gonna suk you might as well create a fan base. Clemson is the biggest college football fanbase around Charlotte but they’re oblivious apparently. Just a dumb clueless group .

You scribble it incoherently but clear enough for me to determine with absolute certainty that you don't have a gd clue about the subject at hand. But fear not, 99% of the people in this thread are in the same boat as you–

Your point probably is.. "I'm a know it all, they don't pick players based off of college fans..." which would make good business sense if it were actually true. But that's not the case as I have grown up in this town.
They've made many indulgent picks over the years. But its usually been to appease the fans of NC schools. Which honestly i'm fine with. But if you're going to the throw a bone on an "either/or" pick late in the draft... you're telling me in 34 years you can't make ONE for the biggest college football fanbase in your area? Armanti Edwards..? really. Whats your rationale for picking him? Maybe you don't remember him and thats the problem.. you don't know the history here.

Now 1+1=2, agree or disagree; true or false. ..Baseline on your stupidity, come on, need an answer! Were burning daylight here..stop put down your pen. I'm putting you back in crayons and coloring books. You just concentrate on coloring inside those lines son, ok...anything more than color scribbling and I'm afraid will drain your pea brain. There's a reason why he hired an assistant GM with no head experience who worked under the GM he fired. Dude is just a marionette for the owner.

Their owner is a tool, and their organization is a mess.
They made what is arguably the worst head coaching hire this offseason.
I’d prefer that Clemson players not be subjected to that mess.
